Stereo and wheel question

Featured Replies

Hey!

I have two separate questions about my car.

1. I bought i Superb Tdi 2,0 -12 a couple of weeks ago. It did not come with any tyres for the upcoming winter. I am now looking for new tyres for the winter :)

Then i remembered that this car ha sensors in the tyres to check the pressures. So my questuion is if i can get new tyres without these sensor during the winter or will the car go bananas? can i turn it of somehow?

2. I´m not happy with my bolero sound system. Coming from other cars like SAAB the sound is very flat and booring. I was thinking about upgrading but i do not know what connections the stereo has. I have built/upgraded sound many times but need some advice.

Can i connect a amplifier to the bolero? what sizes are the front speakers in the door?

Thanks alot!

Are you sure you have sensors in the tires? As in, do you have this menu in your maxidot, TPMS-High?

If you don't have this menu, you have the TPMS-Low system, this uses the speed of the ABS sensor to determine when a wheel is deflating. This system is known to give no warning with a sudden blowout, but a slow gradual puncture it can pick up.

There is a button near the gearstick surround for the TPMS - reset. Press and hold it a few seconds, there will be a sound and a flashing warning light, this recalibrates the sensor. I check my tire pressures every month, and I reset the sensor every month aswell. If you change tires, you should do this too.

About the sound system, I can't help you with this, I have the optional "Sound System" upgrade and I find it adequate.
