Ive cut the tabs of top of the posts, so shall i cut them down another 10mm to the flat bit in the posts, then screw though each post?

That was how mine was done till it fell off and wore away on a motorway journey at night :blink:

Just took the dremmel to it so ready to bolt it on in the morning.

Yes screw through each post. You may need a large washer to use with a long screw to clamp posts to bumper if you have trimmed off past the flat plastic section. If that makes sense.

No ive kept the flat section got 20mm long self tapers and washers to spread the load

update heres my splitter fitted once trimmed and tapped centrally onto bumper was a doddle to fit just went round with a 2mm drill and self tappers with washers. im loving it!
