Monte Carlo 105 TSI Possible Purchase

Featured Replies

Hi superdon

Which bulbs did you change ?

Any luck with Milton Keynes?

I changed headlight, side light, front indicator, number plate and all interior lights.

Cost about £50 for the bulbs, but well worth it.

Failed to return my call ! Will wait to see if they call me back tomorrow , giving dealers until the end of this week , if I don't get any joy , I will move on to something else , if I do manage to get one , let me know what you changed your headlight/ sidelights to. Thanks for your help and advice so far .

At the end of the day, even £500 off the RRP of the Tech is a good deal in my opinion, but you will get better.

No problems on the lights, I got my info on here there's a few other very helpful Tech owners on here.

I gave my dealer a long list of things we wanted them to do in PDI and to be fair they sorted most of them, including some vagcom tweaks and raising the headlights.

you start voice control by pressing the volume roller in on the steering wheel :)

Hey super don,

I'm collecting my Monte Tech hopefully next week sometime. And I was wondering if you could provide me with some links to the bulbs you bought please? How are you finding yours? Can't wait to pick mine up now :D

Many thanks

Heres a list of the bulbs I got...

They are all working fine. The only ones I wasn't too impressed with were the silver indicators, they are nowhere near as bright as the standard ones.

If you have a button on your steering wheel, Monte Carlo Tech's do not come with that luxury.

ahhh, no idea then! lol...

I race for pies .

I'm trying to purchase a monte. Tech black , if you don't mind me asking , who did you orders yours from ? And did you get a good deal , best I've been offered is £500 discount plus free mats ! Any advice would be much appreciated .

Thanks superdon!

I didn't haggle at all tbh, I wish I did now. But I'm still happy with the PCP deal they gave me at £2000 deposit, £158 a month for 3 1/2 years. That was with 10000 miles. I'm gonna get some mats out hem when I collect the car from them.

Deal I've been offered is £500 deposit £170 x 41 , final payment £5900 based on 5000 mls pa.

I thought the tech came with cruise, bluetooth and a MFSW?  If not, what does it get over a standard Monte?

As for headlights, there isn't a magic switch (as per the one I had on a previous Octavia) to switch for Europe, if you don't fit the beam deflectors, they shine the wrong side of the road.

Three things on that: 1) they aren't high enough or bright enough to worry anyone; 2) don't drive at night; 3) the europeans never fit theirs coming this way.  Having said all of that, I have heard anecdotally that the Gendarmes can/will check if they're in a dunny mood - you're supposed to fit them on the ferry or before.

you obviously know better than I do, but isn't that mileage a bit on the low side? Mine was based on 12k miles p. a. and without going into too much detail, I'll be paying less than you are, albeit over 36 months.

It's all too easy to be seduced by perceived 'discounts' offered by dealers, but don't lose sight of the true, actual amount you're going to pay in the long run.

Hi Glyno.

Car is only used as a second car only averages about 4000 - 5000 a year .

Over and about the standard Monte Carlo the Tech comes with Bluetooth and the SatNav and if you go for the Black Edition the Pearl Black paint as well!

I don't think I'll bother with Beam Deflectors TBH as its only a day trip but don't tell anyone will you  ;)

Put a refundable deposit on a red monte tech with 6300 miles on the clock with maxi dot, bluetooth, satnav and some other stuff that might just be standard today for the mrs. Had to put a deposit down over the phone.

We aren't able to go see it until saturday and its 150 miles away hence the refundable bit incase she doesn't like it, This is highly unlikely though as she is already in love with it and very excited :)

Your input at the beginning of thread was of great help! I must admit I'm excited too! It just makes me want to replace my Toledo even sooner now but looks like I will have to wait a while longer until I can cough up the funds for a CR vrs octavia dsg estate. (not a new one though)
