Remap info needed

Featured Replies

Hi guys just need some info on this just recently swapped my jeep grand cherokee for a 02 plate octavia vrs the mods I knw it has are fmic and turbo back exhaust system and some funky looking air filter and a cupra r turbo.the guy who I got the car from told me today it has had a revo map stage 3 but is only running stage 2 because it needs a larger turbo pipe or something could this be true and If al what sort or power figures would I be looking at?

Stage 2 should see 240 ish BHP. But you really need to get it to a specialist to see what exactly has been done and how far you can go. Depends how big your wallet is ! Have fun.

The car might be known on the forum or by one of the tuners on here?

Nice motor

Won't be 240bhp + with that setup

Intercooler top pipe to small

Has a 2.5 inch maf so must be a oem ko3s tip

So would indicate oem turbo fitted

Need to check see what you got first looks like a few cheap eBay mods

Car looks nice but don't think you got a stage 3 motor sorry

Thanks mate.

Roughly wat sort of Bhp would it be then.and would it cost a lot of money to get 230-240 bhp

Needs to go on some rollers or logged on vagcom to give you an idea where you at now

It's defo a toto sport intercooler he says it's running 16 psi of boost of that helps.and some sort of custom exhaust from tints n tweets which there's a recipe for £350 odds

  • Author

Were abouts are u based cn tuning?am in glasgow

16psi would be about 205/210bhp wouldnt it? stage one map

Not sure the motors gonna appreciate that ext blow off valve? 1.8t need a re circ or it'll eventually throw up a CEL. If it's got a KO4 from a Bam engine it should have a EGT sensor port on the side of the turbos hot side.

16 psi of boost won't tell us the BHP until you know what turbos on there

Tbh I don't know a lot about these car wat do u mean by cel?is that bad can any of this

Damage the engine.the guy who had it drove all the way from Wigan to glasgow to swap me so it must be ok or something would I poped or went on that sort of journey.a will have a look at the car today and see if there's any numbers on the turbo to help tell u wat kind it is

A journey like that has constant revs so the turbos not really doing a lot of boosting so may not do any thing till your up and down the gearbox at full chat. Cel is check engine light:)

Won't blow up the engine lol it's just dumping unmetered air so the engine will prob think there's a boost leak but never fitted an ext valve because of this so don't know what'll really do. I've got the forge 008 re circ valve and it's prob the best for the 1.8t's as a lot of people run them, even on oem maps. Just make sure u use the right coloured spring to correspond with the boost pressure the turbos producing and you can't go wrong:)

post-110147-0-76931500-1384536267_thumb.jpg Tryed to get a pic of the turbo but it's right at the back prob need to go underneath anyway can anyone tell me from this pic if the turbo looks like a standard turbo or a k04

I'd get it over to Ecotune in Hillington and get it on their rr mate. Also check vcds list for folk in or near Glasgow that could help you out for beer tokens :-)

No idea on the technical questions Garyvrs13 I'm afraid but those Golf GTi alloys in grey really look the part on a black car.  Nice motor.

  • Author

Yeah the alloys look real smart on it.someone on here must of owned it before me but just can't seem to find who lol.has a briskoda sticker on the back and a oh not another skoda one lol.

Really hard to tell which turbo from that picture. I could be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure that KO4s have the exhaust side (where the downpipe attaches to) opposite the intake at the other end of the shaft facing the drivers side wheel.

on a KO3/KO3s, the exhaust is at 90 degrees to the intake facing the ground.

From what I can see on your photo it looks like a KO3, but couldn't be sure.

from the back of the car to the front, after the flexi joint visible in the photo, does the exhaust go straight up to the turbo housing or around to the drivers side and then in?

Edited by michael1

Think KO4s are in the 8P S3 on wards as the Bam 1.8t use the KO4

Ko3s in the pic

Ko3s in the pic

+1

Looks like a K03s to me

Also that BOV and the twin air filter say previous owner added cheap mods and probably over exaggerated the power output and did not know enough of the car to be factual.

I would get rid of the BOV and fit a good known recirv DV that these motors need.  Other than that looks a really nice car buddy and wheel suit it. They look like MK 5 golf GTi ones. As others have said best get car checked to see what it is running as 16psi is defo not std but hard to tell what mapping,. Potentially points to a Stage 1 if it is on a Ko3s Turbo.

Looks like a bent actuator rod on the turbo also. Could just be the pic or my eyes though! Lol.
