Yeah i do get a little impulsive it has to be said.

I was determined not to buy just because i had money but was going to hold out for the 'right' car, hence the miles of travelling around and multiple viewings, then just browsing autotrader this one popped up.

As you say with the red, lots of polishing, already checking out the detailing section for tips and product advice, i have clayed a car before but only once.

How do you find the performance between the vrs and the civic?

Well I haven't done many miles in the vrs yet, but, it's obviously got a bit of lag initially and then shifts pretty well for a bigger / heavier car.

But it is more relaxing to drive with a bit more torque in gear so 30-50 say is a bit easier in 4th in the vrs.

Doesn't encourage fast driving as opposed to the type r that really loves it and gets better the higher up the revs you go

Yeah, I found you never have to rev the 1.8t much.

A bigger downpipe increases the low end torquey feel massively... It did for me anyway. Motorway speed (50mph +) pick up is so much better when remapped too.

Yeah I keep reading about the difference getting it mapped makes. Maybe something I look into admittedly

Do it, you will not regret it. Just make sure you take it to a reputable tuner :)

Nice looking motor!  Glad you found one.  The great thing about the vRS range was that the colours available, although limited in choice, all really suit the car.  It was the first car I'd looked at where I could honestly say that I'd have had any of the colour choices quite happily.

If you get it chipped let us know what you think.
