Felicia Track Rod Ends

Featured Replies

I just need someone to confirm for me I've not either got a really bent/bodged truck, and that I'm not going nuts (well, not more nuts than I know about).

Am I right in thinking....

The track rods ends sit really close to the inside of the wheel?

The track rod ends go in the hub from the top down, with the nut going on from underneath?

I bought a rod end from GSF and it's quite a bit larger around the ball joint, resulting in it fouling the wheel - has anyone else had this?

Do you know a part number/supplier for the correct one?

Thanks

Steve

Part number for track rod end is 6U0422811. When a new part comes in, the first thing I do is compare it with old one.

For the rest of your questions the best I can do is to show you some photos from my collection.

Cheers for that, vented discs and a bit of lowerring - looks like a plan to me! :)

Yeah, I checked them over pretty thoroughly, but I've never known a rod end to sit this close to a wheel.

If anyones got five minutes, would they mind reaching behind their wheel and guessimating the distance between the rod end and the wheel for me? If your car's standard height, you can do it without jacking the car up. I reckon mine's about half an inch or less both sides, but a bit of peace of mind wouldn't go amiss.

I found this out after converting my 1.3 to 1.6 slxi pas did new track rods on power steering rack and had clicking doing test drive found track rod end hitting weight on wheel only had about 7mm on slxi alloys wheels had four wheel computer alignment done and found left hand wheel to far falward my bad sorted now tho hope this helps

Cheers for that. Sounds like I'm somewhere near right and it's pattern parts to blame then.

Use spacers 5mm or bigger wheels

I've got 15" wheels on mine so it wouldn't be much help. But I do remember them being a tight fit on the standard 13" alloys, so long as it isn't touching anything it will be fine. It won't move around in service in relation to the wheel anyway.

Got one from Euro and it's a far more compact unit. Fitting it tomorrow, but I can't see there being an issue.

They're showing as dropped at TPS, but they are still in stock to be orderred from the factory.
