My Skoda collection has increased.....

Featured Replies

So having owned my Fabia for the past 5 years I've added to the Skoda collection. The Mrs got rid of her Fiesta ST as we wanted something a bit bigger and more comfortable. At the time we were going to just carry on with the one car until the new year then go car hunting. However after a couple of weeks a mate knew of a Octavia vRS going cheap and long story short we bought it.

It's a black and cosmetically it's seen better days, keyed down one side, a few scuffs and scratches all over really, mainly the bumpers and stone chipped bonnet. The wheels are in a feckin awful state, paint flacking etc. Inside the seats are filthy, the leather and dash are all smart and look new but the white bits, carpet, middle of seats etc need a wash. Mechanically however it's spot on, mega miles (anyone who has seen my Fabia with 173,000 miles knows they dont put me off) but maintained regardless of cost, services, brakes, clutch, spanky new tyres with all the work carried out at Unit 18 so I knew it was all done correctly.

Heres a couple of snaps of it

It had a tow bar fitted (only used occasionally for light use) which I really hated, so got Alistair at Unit 18 onto it :D

As you might have guessed it was a little stubborn to come off. Needs removing properly by taking the bumper off but it's got rid of the ugly ball part for the moment. The Mrs loves it surprisingly, she wasnt over keen on it but now she has started driving it she really likes it, even if she does feel "grown up" driving it. I love how comfortable it is, soaks up the bumps lovely but does feel a little wallowy under cornering. For what we paid though we're chuffed with it. It's got a few nice bits on it, cruise control which is great and a "phatnoise" system, basically a huge retro USB stick in the boot lol.

Got a few plans going to tidy some bits up, give it deep clean, renew some tired bits, suspension and a few bits of trim need replacing, this will be the sensible car while the Fabia is used for fun so a decent sound system is needed at some point too. Later on there might be some performance mods, she did say how it feels a bit slow compared to the Fabia but it's not really been bought to smash around it, more just cruise in comfort. Short term some pastyboy badges are needed and sort the bloody wheels out!

Cheers all, C&C welcome.

towbar could have had a new home with me :(

Glad it's found a new home. And I'm sure you'll find it satisfying doing all those little bits to improve it

Interior should come up pretty well with a steam clean or a decent wet vac :)

A good base to start I guess!  What did it cost?

Those seats are filthy! Otherwise it looks good :)

Looks good mate..

Black is the fastest colour as we all know too!

And i thought my seats were dirty lol

Now that is true!!!!

LOL

get the seats wet vacuum/chemical cleaned at a valet place, will make a massive improvement.

shout spray is good if they are not too far gone, but yours look pretty dirty.

Cheers for the replies guys. The seats are dirty, gave them a quick go with some upholstory shampoo I had, they look a bit better. A little more time and effort they'll be ok I think. I like yellow but the Mrs hates them so now we have matching colour cars, at least we can share paint chip repair kits lol. Paid a grand for it, compared to what else you can get for that money this was a no brained tbh

Cheers

159k, had nothing but genuine parts as soon as they're needed in its life though.
