I can't break the addiction!

Featured Replies

Mine names Mike and I'm a caraholic! Lol who else is in the same boat as me. Every car I have had been modified in some way. When I got my octavia family wagon I thought that's it get a sensible fast ish car and be happy. But....NA! Remap was first, right that's it. But no, was pulling down my local slip road the other day and realised I couldn't take the bend and quick as I could go my furby. So now I'm getting a rear arb. Knowing full wellthat when I get that full suspension will be next. Then today whilst walkin the dog i was thinking if I can remove the dpf ill get an extra 15 ish bhp. Did a search on here and it says it's not worth it for just 15 bhp. But 15 bhp is 15 more then I have now so in my eyes totally worth it! Lol wish I would just be happy with what I have lol. Anyone else relate to this story?

Yes me! Just spent £1300 on a hybrid turbo and now looking at another £2500 for another turbo kit!

Phew at least I'm not alone lol.

I've got 9 cars at the moment and one is being prepped for a £4k respray. I couldn't spend £2500 on a turbo though. All my spare turbos are only worth £200 a pop :D

Mike, be careful about dpf removal could invalidate your insurance. Article in last weeks autoexpress about it.

Plus you will probably have to have it remapped?

really? Didn't know that. If anything that will be a long way down the track. Handling is my next priority

Why would it take invalidate the insurance though if you mention it to your insurance?

That's mental how it adds 15bhp? How?

I was only meant to get my car mapped.

No car comes out of the factory perfect..Manufacturers always make compromises.. Nothing wrong with trying to make your car better..

I ordered my uncle to remove my bonnet cable and measure the arch gap.

He bet me £20 that the arch gap would change..

DAMN!

Coillies brakes decat Remap comps hids

Now saving for strong clutch, front mount, bugger turbo..

... bugger turbo...

buggered turbo's are perfectly normal for Range Rover owners. Not posting the pic

I'm not going to comment on this thread about my car hobby... :peek:

You'd still only call it a hobby :D

If I called it anything else it would indicate I'm taking the lunacy too seriously...

Too true, it's all about enjoying them and having fun :)

Stop walking the dog if it gives you too much thinking time.

My TF is my toy car (Remap, Daytona Exhaust, Decat, Stainless manifold and coolant pipes, Goodrich hoses, Facelift bumper, Leon splitter)

The vRS will be the sensible car, I promise....... well, maybe a remap  ...... and handling / brake upgrades arent "mods", they are "opportunistic enhancements to safety which are a worthwhile investment to the lives of OUR FAMILY"  :sun:

(This is the speech I will be practising!) ;)
