Email Server Software for W2K3

Featured Replies

To all MS Gurus.....

I've moved my main server from a SBS 2003/Exchange 2003 server to a Windows 2003 Standard build.

I was using Exhcnage 2003's POP3 mail collector to D/L mail from Blueyonder mail boxes, and point these to the releavent users within AD.

The thing is, I am after some email server software to be able to do the same thing, collect emal from Blueyonders POP3 mailboxes and spread out.

The software must be able to keep the mails in a central store (for backup) and not DL again to the mail client.

I'm also looking for it to work with Thunderbird instead of MS Outlook.

I'm after quick, simple and cheap (or free) as possible. I've d/l'd a eval version of Kerio 6 and was not really impressed.

I actually use Kerio Mailserver and forward mail onto Exchange and can find no flaw with the server. I also use Kerio Mailserver to host my customers e-mail (roughly 1200 users) and it is great. It may take some time to get your head around the layout of the server admin console but I find it really good, especially in version 6 comes with integration into outlook and full imap capabilities for the majority of e-mail client software.

I also used to use this software:

With the benefit (?) of being home-grown
