Got winter wheels but dare not jack the car up!

Featured Replies

Read too much about damaging the sills!

Ordered the pre cut ice puck off eBay and will wait till then!

Getting a trolley jack as the emergency jack is a pain to use.

Loverly sunny day to swap the wheels over too!

Bring it to me..I'll put them on for you

Just down the road in Eldwick

.....Then he'll snow foam it, wash it, clay bar it, wash it again, dry it, polish it with a rotary, seal it, wax it, more wax

Might take you up on that if you're serious. What magical tool do you have for raising the car?

Only got black steelies, seem to remember yours has nice winter alloys!

A trolley jack with a Hockey puck with a slot cut in the puck

PM me your number and we will arrange it

Any chance of a UTube of you lot doing it to help us all. I have the pucks here but never used them.

pm sent. Cheers.

I could video it yes. Or at least some nice pictures.

Theory is on the puck that you just place it where the normal jack would go.

There is a little triangle on the sill when you open the door to mark where to put the jack.

I just don't have a puck or a trolley yet!

CU tomorrow

Just put the puck at the jacking point...not a lot to see TBH

Cheers again. Just enough time to give it a wash before I come over.

Where have you got these pucks from? Are they pre cut, if so are they a tight snug fit etc?

Ordered mine off eBay. Comes pre cut, no idea if it fits yet!

Be cheaper to buy your own puck but easier to buy pre cut!

Will take a picture tomorrow it may help.

Eh!

I jack mine up all the time using the shoity little sissor jack to get the wheels off to clean.

Look for the marks inside the doors and just do it at the rightpoints, no problems with damaging sills.

I am on 2nd one of those jacks now and the new one is twisted now too.... absolute rubbish would only use if my life depended on it again. Only ever used on a perfectly level concrete floor.

Having a Trolly Jack available is a must if you're taking the wheels off regularly

Hi, found your guide earlier today, very useful. Had a poke under my car and found the bungs.

Decided I preferred the hockey puck route for now, quick and easy.

Might re-read your article in the future though.

Massive thanks to ChrisRs.

Winter wheels all fitted - Using trolley jack and puck on the standard jacking points - dead simple.

Also managed to sneak a quick snow foam and powerwash on the side. Much appreciated. Brought the wheels up nice, they we're looking a bit grim before the clean and detail!

I now have a shopping list, power washer, snowfoam lance & trolley jack.

Again big thanks to ChrisRs.

It was a pleasure to help Kevin

...and thanks for the choccies.

Does anyone have a link to somewhere selling these 'pucks'?

Also, how do they fit to the top of a trolley jack? I can't picture quite what we're talking about...

Cheers.

Pressure

it just sits in the jack dish

Ah, thought it would be too big to fit inside the jack dish, that makes sense. Thanks.
