FL orders log

He got it from a link I posted a few weeks ago (see post #831 on the  FL discussion thread).

See the reply from Lee earlier; this is a pre-production version and should NOT be aired in public!

I downloaded the FL Yeti (from the front cover: 'Effective November 2013') on 08 Nov 2013 from the SUK website. All the contact details (www, addresses etc) throughout it are for SUK.

At the time I posted a comment about its (in)accuracy on the FL Discussion thread. Whether it was generated by SUK or Skoda HQ I don't know. Who generates the SUK website for that matter?

ANYWAY, I SAY AGAIN: I DOWNLOADED A FL YETI BROCHRE FROM THE SKODA UK WEBSITE, WHERE IT SAID 'DOWNLOAD A YETI BROCHURE'.

Okay, now the brochure available for download is for a pre-FL, but people ought to be very careful how they infer people are wrong. If the brochure is mystical, I must be lying.

Let me know if you want a pdf copy of the FL brochure (6.45 MB it says - but what do I know) - I have it saved on my PC from where I am typing.

Perhaps not everyone here knows everything about everything......

Well stated aerofurb.

Anyone would think that we have broken into the Pentagon's Top Secret National Defense files, and put them on the web as per Wikileaks.

It's a brochure for a car that has been released to the public, and presumably Skoda want to sell.

And I remember now (thanks for the memory jog aerofurb) - it was from the Skoda UK site that I copied and posted the link for others to enjoy, presumably before they realised their error no doubt!

I also downloaded the FL brochure from the SUK website on 19 November and have it saved as a PDF version.

If it should not be aired in public, why was it put in the public domain?

Do I hear an appology from a certain member?

The brochure for the F/L Yeti is available here:

http://www.skoda.co.uk/models/new-yeti

11/13 version so if it was an error, it's still there.

However you get the pre-F/L brochure from here:

http://www.skoda.co.uk/tools/request-a-brochure

What a mix up  :giggle:

I can only go on what I was told by the gent at SUK in my phone conversation on Thursday.

No worries Graham, at least you can now see it on-line rather than wait (forever) for the "official" one to be posted. I would also prefer a hard copy to browse though.

"Trust No One" - not even Skoda UK.

Perhaps comments made in a more gentle fashion may be the way forwards. Posts can come across as a telling off or as an accusation of a poster imparting incorrect information. New posters may not understand the technicalities of posting text or pictures or the use of the search functions. They don't need large, bold font, harsh comments in reply to an innocent question - which can easily be interpreted as an attack. Not particularly welcoming.

For instance, why is there a need for a post about the FL brochure that says: 'See the reply from Lee earlier; this is a pre-production version and should NOT be aired in public!'

Comments like that are not warranted given that the actual facts are that the FL brochure was available as a download from the 'download brochures' section of the SUK website (and yes, I can recognise the difference between the pre-FL and FL Yetis on the front cover, thank you).

We are not stupid people here with a complete lack of knowledge about Skoda Yetis or life in general.

All in my humble opinion....

And what I would ask, Graham, is that you organise another round the Welsh waters Yeti picnic next summer!

Oh, and to keep the thread on track - TIBET III will be a FL L&K CR170 Outdoor with toys in Tibetan Bronze ordered 20 Oct 13 (pre price rise) through Allams. Forecast build date of Wk 5, not confirmed. ;)

An "adventure" is being planned, but daughter's wedding and one weekend off a month is eating into the available dates at the moment.

Watch this space!!

What's involved in this adventure? Not to far from you and have the new Yeti by then. Anybody invited?

Last one was meet-up at The Elan Valley Visitors Centre for a coffee, then drove up through the Valley to Claerwen Dam, where we drove the "green lane" along the edge to the end, then drove back again. First one we actually stopped for a picnic at the top before returning.

Next one might be a different route though, and might give the option of a caravan/camping site in Llani, so a chance to socialise first.

Numbers are limited to no more than 6 on the run due to the "Green Lane Code"

One of our favourite day trips is up to the dams, regularly go up sometimes with the picnic or pick up some chips in Rhayader first. Will keep an eye out for further developments. Haven't ordered the rough road package though, is it worth it or not?

re documents and info on the internet... it's all out of date. The brochures in the showroom are out of date within days of release.

The only thing that dealers can safely rely on when you walk the through the door, are options on the build/order tool they have.

Case in point recently with lane assist, it was removed as an option due to supply problems... brochure released a few days before had it in.

If documents are linked to on the internet, it should be fine, if they are public they are freely available given proper credit and user wariness.

Elan is a fantastic place too. Some great roads from there out towards devils bridge and also the other way, the Builth wells -> Maes Coed -> Garth triangle.

1.2TSI SE with panoramic sunroof, Amundsen satnav, heated screen and nozzles, heated seats. Ordered on 17 November, told by the dealer "we are told to say 12-16 weeks", but nothing since.

Just called Skoda UK (dealer not responding to my emails for information...): the helpful person took my details then called back a) to tell me what the order number is and B) to say that I have an unconfirmed build date of Week 4 i.e. week starting 20 January. Sounds hopeful assuming the build week doesn't get bumped :)

Sounds familar, and it's not just Skoda dealers that are guilty of this rude practice.

I too rang Skoda UK today (as I have done for the past two Mondays), and still no damn build week, and that's after 5 weeks from order on 28th October........Arghhhhh!!!

The very helpful man at Skoda UK (Reece) did advice though, that some options can delay build weeks, and as ColinD states - Lane Assist being one of them, but that is not on my options choice luckily.

Only options that I can think of that I have specced that are new to the FL, and may be an issue, are the rear LED lights and rear view camera. If I thought these maybe the reason for any delay, I would delete them.

After emailing Skoda UK regards the Metal Grey metallic paint being on the FL configurator but not the FL brochure they got in touch with me today by phone to inform me the colour was 'no longer available'!! I pointed out that in that case it had NEVER been available because it wasn't an option with the pre FL Yeti. I also told them I'd actually ordered a Yeti in that colour but felt I was wasting my time and give it up.

So, if any other poor soul gets excited about this colour on the configurator, be warned you can't have it! Wonder how long it will be before they take it off!?

My current Yeti is black and I must admit it looks good and although I'm tempted with the Jungle Green I think I'll go for black again to be on the safe side. With Jungle Green being a new colour I would hate to get a phone call in three months time informing me that my chosen colour is no longer available and there will now be a further two month delay with your vehicle sir! Don't laugh, this is Skoda remember!
