The Brisk Rover - Going Brisker :-)

You can still get genuine stuff, but some things are starting to get hard to get hold of now. Had a stroke of luck down the scrap yard last weekend, there was a Rover 214 in my colour, Ocean blue, read that as awkward blue :D so I had the front wings and bumper off it which should make it look a bit tidier. Sort of.

Haven't updated for a while as not much to report. It's all still working, apart from the alternator needing replacing last week. It whined for a bit and then started making that nice electrical burning smell :D

5 Autosolos into the season and it's won it's class every time so it's all good. Just need to sort the problem it's always had of power steering fluid splilling out the reservoir whenever you throw the car around. No real issue with a bit leaking out the cap apart the mess it makes to the inner wing. I'm thinking a bit of hose into a little pot so I can just pour the fluid back in.

That's about it for now apart from nice sideways picture :D

I like picture 62, cocking its leg

Picture 62 is where it's then on it's way to being sideways the other way on picture 63.

From inside the car, it all looked a bit like this:

Well, it's still working, all it's needed recently is an alternator. I finally gave in when the old one started making burning smells :D

Just ordered these adjustable top mounts:

Gonna start playing with camber, but not gay, it's a scene thing camber yo!, but proper let's go faster round corners camber

I've also still need to put my camber adjustable link arms on the back. Aim is to have them on before Blyton for some proper testing.

That's a good read that. Very impressed with that car!

Indeed. Got most bits I need to fix today's "incident" in the garage already

Certainly was entertaining watching this go round the track until it spontaneously combusted! Glad you got out quickly though

still waiting for the video! :)

So am I :D

What happened?

What happened?

Oil cooler pipe failed and chucked hot oil over the alternator so there was a bit of a fire. Marshals had it extinguished pretty quick so it's all fixable.

Oh ok, I didn't expect that!

Fires do happen from time to time when you play with cars..... It'll soon be back on the mean streets no doubt.

Should be running again by the end of the week.

It was quite spectacular when it went, right in front of all the spectators :D  Dave Harries managed to get it all on video so eagerly awaiting the upload.

are you going to relocate the oil cooler or create a splash guard for the alternator incase it happens again?

I knew it was serious when you pulled over and then departed the car quickly.

Considering in every briefing they say to stay in the car, unless it's on fire.

Seems like good advice :)

I bet it smells lovely in there!    Really happy that Brisk Rover only got a mild scorching and not a complete flambéing, this means we will see you at How Fast.
