New Superb, cannot open petrol flap?

Featured Replies

I discovered when I got home that I have a new Superb but an old Superb handbook.  I cannot find out where to open the petrol flap from, can anyone help please??

Might be like mine on the Octavia

When the car is unlocked quickly push the flap inwards at the bit nearest the rear of the car. Push it in and it should spring open. When the car is locked the flap is also locked

Maybe one of those that locks with the doors and just needs a wee push to spring open. Just a guess

You are both right,  thank you!

I tried but not hard enough, just went out and tried again and it opened, to save me looking silly I will assume that it was slightly frozen.

At least you didn't wander round the petrol station forecourt asking people. I've assisted several people over the years :)

One very wintry day after days of freezing weather i was inside paying for fuel when the attendant spotted on the cctv someone peeing on their car and commented to me.

They were not surprised,

it is one way to get the flap unfrozen if all else fails and you have no hot water.

Maybe best not offer this assistance to a female driver who can not get into their fuel filler.
