"Blocked" rear wiper jet

Featured Replies

After some advice if possible, I seem to be having issues with my rear wiper jet/washer.

Here's the thing, the reservoir is full, the pump can be heard working, the opening is clear, the front ones work, but when I use the rear I get a little water and then nothing.

Anyone got any ideas? And if the pipe is blocked then which side of the car does it run, etc?

Cheers

Yes. Stop using it now and find the pipe that is not on properly. I would advise you to feel around in your boot... You may find it very wet...

I'll have a check. Thanks

Its worth checking the washer nozzle isnt blocked, mine has blocked up twice now,its easy to remove then clean it out,i used compressed air on mine & a brissle off a wire brush to poke down the nozzle holes. You remove the cover at the base of the wiper then pull the nozzle up & out,if a stream of water squirts out when you turn the washer on then the nozzle is blocked.

I don't know about today's cars, but once upon a  time I had this. Bit of fuse wire in jet- wiggle around and it cleared. Caused by too much soapy stuff in water.

Check the plastic cover is not misaligned and obscuring the nozzle.

Skoda charged me £80 to "fix" this under "warranty", when I could have done it myself for free, with a round needle file.

Huh? Charged £80 when it was under warranty?

I thought the idea of a warranty is that you dont pay?

+1 nozzle, replaced mine recently.. not cheap for what they are (bout 7quid) but mine was full of crap and ended up in the bin during a fit of rage
