Going to Germany TOMORROW and decided bikes (3 of 'em) might be nice. Will have Halfords roof box on so roof-type bike holders is no good. Anyone any experience with Octy vRS + rear bike rack?

What make and what extras will I need?

Can't help much I'm afraid, except to say that if you get one that fits around the back, make sure it is properly secured. My rack, purchased from and fitted by a cycle shop onto my VW Polo, happily dispensed the bike into the road behind me - thankfully no traffic was following at the time.

You should be able to get a boot mounted one, just make sure it clears the spoiler and that you can see out the rear ok. Worth noting that it cant cover your rear lights too.

Oh and make your you do them up very tight, and check them when you stop for a break

I was in Tesco last night (one of their bigger stores I think) and picked up a rear mounted 3-bike carrier for 19.99.

It listed a few cars it didn't fit, but the Octy estate was not one of them. Although I haven't tried it yet so no promises.

Anyway, 19.99 seemed way cheaper than any others I have seen, so hope its OK.
