vRS springs and a 15-20 mm drop (if possible) or Named springs (Eibach etc) and a 40mm drop.

Its for an Octy TDI which corners like the QEII.

Retain as much comfort as possible (still on 16" possibly go for 17s later)

Have you considered an uprated anti-roll bar?

I think the TDI engine will be heavier than the vRS' 1.8T so you should really go for springs specific for your car.

An eibach ARB kit could be had for around

get the eibach tdi springs. made for the car and will drop it 30mm (just lower than a vrs) and stiffen the ride slightly. i think fitting vrs springs to your car would wreck the ride as the tdi lump is heavier than the 1.8t and the springs wont be designed for those shocks.

I know what you mean about handling mine used to make me feel seasick ......but uprated ARBs should make a world of difference

Thought I read somewhere on here that the Eibachs were a bad choice for the Octy as Eibach say the A3 springs are fine, but they're not actually a good match. Best off going for some KW's as there are plenty of excellent things said about these Obviously I stand to be corrected if I'm talking cr@p

never heard that one but its half right though it seems - front(?) ones are the same which sounds alrights as a3/octavia same platform and in this case holding same engine.

A 30mm drop would be fine, but don't really want to lower it more than that. I ended up pearing 20mm of my old golf mudflaps through normal driving and it was only dropped 40mm.

It seems that Eibachs are most peoples preferred option here. What about the bump stops? I read a fabia thread where someone replaced the bump stops because they where prohibiting the new springs even under no load. I.e. the original space between spring and bump stop was 15mm (front or back, can't remember) and the new springs dropped the car by 40mm. This meant that the bump stops were under constant pressure.

In my golf there was loads of space for the bump stops after it was lowered, but i found myself replacing them after a year as they where worn down to about half their original size.
