New VRS! mk1 to mk2

Featured Replies

Evening all,

So after 4 1/2 years of trouble free motoring with my mk1 vrs I have traded it in for a mk2 FL vrs.

Spec as follows;

2010

2.0 TSI

Race blue

43k miles

Maxidot

Rear parking sensors

Heated seats

Auto lights/wipers/rear dimming mirror

Audison amp with hertz sub and hertz front speakers (not into ICE so not sure how good this set up is? Looks like it has been professionally installed and certainly sounds pretty good!)

Bought it from a skoda dealer and had them change the tensioners, chain and guides after reading the thread on here.

Really happy with the car so far. It feels so much more luxurious inside than the mk1, especially with the extras on it. Only thing im missing is bluetooth but ive already been reading up on how to install oem hardware!

Feels quicker than the mk1 too.

So all in all im one happy skoda driver. Fingers crossed this one is as reliable as the mk1, it never put a foot wrong!

Nice one :)

How much did the dealers charge for changing the tensioners, chain etc if you don't mind me asking and do you then get some kind of guarantee with it?

I'm going to look at a TSI vRS on Sunday and most likely swapping from my diesel :D

They said the cost price to them was £520. After negotiation they paid £200 and I paid £320. Thought that was quite a good deal really for the amount of work that goes into it! 7 hour job in total!
