Vrs 2.0 Tsi

Featured Replies

It seems most people are ordering the Tdi vrs estate over the quicker petrol, which I have ordered with Dsg. just wondering if the build dates could be influenced by this. I think the petrol would work out cheaper for me as I only cover 10,000 miles pa. order placed 1st week November.

My TSI has left the factory a week earlier than originally quoted. On its way to the UK now.

I ordered the TSi hatch and my build week just keeps getting pushed back further. I think its a bit random as to when they build them from what we read on here.

I ordered a manual TSI Estate during early October and have only just received a provisional build week 13.

No matter the miles the Diesel will be cheaper once TAX, depreciation and mpg are counted, but for some (like me) the benefits of petrol are well worth the premium. I considered and test drove both options, but the diesel dsg felt too much like my current 320D auto (no bad thing), whereas the manual petrol reminded me slightly of an older love, my Subaru. Both TSI & TDI are very impressive.

Build dates seen to be a lottery whichever model and options you choose.

I ordered my vRS manual TSI estate at the beginning of August and got it last week (27 November).  Just under 4 months seems fair enough for a new, in-demand model.  From others' experiences It seems that it could have taken a lot longer.  It may be a matter of luck - or else it could be because mine isn't diesel or a hatch, and I didn't want the extras which seem to have proved problematic.

I'll post some first impressions when I've done a few more miles, but so far so (very) good.

The wait is worth it.

Having done 200+ miles in my TIS DSG Hatch this week, I would say this is the best saloon I have driven.

Waiting and wondering what it will be like is the worst bit as it seems to take ages to arrive. This just makes the thrill of driving it more intense when you finally get into the cabin.

Skoda brilliance.

I ordered my manual VRS TSI estate first week in August and its just arrived in the UK. So again, approx 4 months in total duration.

Bloody hell! I ordered mine 5th August and picked it up on 11th October, though it is a diesel.

Ive just been looking at my order form for the new car and it says "OCTAVIA VRS 2.0 TFSI 220PS" so is it a TSI or a TFSI? Whats the difference?

Probably nothing, the brochure refers to it being a TSi. but Skoda have used TFSi in the past rather than TSi for some reason!

I have the brochure for my '12 Superb & that states that it's a TFSi lump, but peek under the hood & the engine cover states TSI, exactly the same on SWMBO's vRS.

The engines are different, cam shaft drive changed from belt to chain, dipstick location moved away from the front of the engine + twin balancer shafts under the crankshaft, + other changes.

It's a TSi. just like the GTi Golf, enjoy it when it arrives!

So if its a TSi does that make it chain cam?
