Of course

this is just an idea,,,,,,,,,2.0 saloons are cheap. What would the gain in power/ torque be?

Be a nice shipping cost on top of that too lol. Shows its possible though, unsure how the internals will cope though.

Must be a strong head etc to handle 15-18psi! - can it even handle that even dropping compression etc?

Most non forged engines can handle in the region of 7psi comfortably.

Stage 1 isnt worth doing, that in the region of 190BHP @ fly.

Clutch will likely be needed, and god knows if the manifold can handle it ie doesnt crack.

No idea on power.

The guy I work with is selling his 2.0 petrol for £650.

Tax and mot ran out so he's just getting somthing new. Tax is silly like £280 I think???

And people say I'm nuts...

as said, this was just a bat**** crazy idea, for a cheap track car so insurance and VED not required. Thinking about it, it's not just bat**** crazy, it's crazy cat lady, bat**** crazy with a dose of wibble :D

saunters off back to the drawing board at one2:rofl:

I'm gonna make my elegance into a rally car, not so crazy!

I'd imagine that storing and transporting it to track days to save £260 in VED each year would prove tedious.

Just chop in your Fabia for a 1.8tsi Yeti.  Track day weapon! ;)

storage not a problem, a mate has an Ifor Williams twin axle trailer. After driving SWMBO's Yeti, I have to say I really do like them, soooooooo

Too much work, hence the lack of 1.8T Fabias other than Tech1e's and Unit18 and possibly ne or two others...

In other words people with skills and free time to spend sorting issues which would otherwise cost a fortune.

Not to mention these are old cars now so not worth the cost.

Far cheaper to buy a mk1 Octy 1.8T.

I've been through all these ideas before. ;)

If I didn't have the Citigo I'd do a 1.8TSI Yeti.  Good sleeper.  Sensible costs too, considering how cheap 320bhp is.

Buy that 2.0 off hutchys mate and dump that 1.8t in. If only it was as easy as it sounds :( . I would like a 1.8t fabia project if i had the space and then i could buy a big diesel estate for work.
