White car, dust and dirt shows more than on other colours?

Featured Replies

Waiting for my candy white octy. Had a anthracite grey mk II up to now, and a black A4 before that.

Is the white colour much worse showing dust and dirt? I would think that minor scratches and marks shows less on a white car than on my grey mk II. I just love the MK III in white.

Would appreciate comments on this.

I have two white cars and both easier to keep clean than black, had a black car a few years ago and it looked stunning when cleaned, but, it needed regular cleaning, the white generally fairs better than black in my opinion, you have made the right choice with a white Octavia, they look ace!

I have a white Yeti, it does go black with road salt but when it rains it sort of self cleanses, then becomes an off white which from a distance doesn't look too bad. Best part is when you do wash it, it looks so bright it is dazzling.

I had a black Mitsubishi Grandis and as James_19742000 says, black is difficult to keep to clean.

Thanks guys, this forum is brilliant :)

Just use a good quality wax every few months, wash weekly with a good quality car shampoo and enjoy the shine.  Enjoy the car, I think it's easily the best colour.... that's why it's used on their brochures. Good choice!

I put a gtechniq coating on my white vrs and it's great. Car gets dirty, quick jet wash and back to looking like new

Only colour I go for now if ordering new, as it's free and I can spend more on options and as others have said it's easy to maintain and tends to hide minor scratches and chips.

That'll do nicely
