What's the best exhaust that's loud?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm new to here and not sure how to use the site, I've read what looks like admin post about where to post for the best answers and to save them moving them so hopefully this is right :)

I have acquired an octavia Vrs mk1 2001 and it's had a new exhaust I'm told is centre back and it's a twin exit but because of the weather I've not got under it to see if it's just the back box or not.

The thing is it looks amazing but there really is no sound to it at all, I'm sure the original would have been louder.

Where could I get something with a bit more roar without breaking the bank or swap with someone here who'd rather quiet down their car.

I have allot if questions about this car so let me know it's okay to post it here.

Thanks in advance.

People tend to go with Piper for noise...

If you do change yours, lemme know what you've got before you dump it. I'll eventually be looking for something for mine, but I want quiet. :D

I wanted to try and get a direct fit to my car but universal fit meant is a fraction of the price and a competent welder could make the rest for me from an old box at a scrappy.

Thanks for the advice as I'd sooner go cheap for the sound I want from a car that has 140k on the clock.

I'll post here if I do change mine I looked under it this morning and there is no makers stamp. It's a nice exhaust and wasn't cheap but if quiet with looks is what your after this one is just what your looking for.

Not bothered about looks really, but stainless is a must...

Powerflow?

Its cheap atleast

Are you a chav? Boy racer?

Why do you want loud?

Performance gains are a better option than noise.

No I'm not a Chav or boy racer, I've had allot of noisy cars and if it's petrol I like some noise.

I've actually gone down another route now I'm getting a 1.9TDI Bora.

BORING  ;)

BORING ;)

Noisy pipes save lives you can hear mine coming from miles around.

Don't get me wrong I like a bit of noise ;)

Was the way it was worded, not really heard a "LOUD" vrs system. They all seem pretty tame, unless you buy something like a cherry bomb from the 90's lol

Cherry bomb blast from the past

Only if you’re driving like a complete *****...

Now on a motorbike, fair enough... but even then, unless using your vehicle only at sociable hours, loud exhausts just make you look like a complete ******** when you pull in late at night. Personally, I like to keep my neighbourhood as quiet as possible.

At the end of the day, whenever most people hear loud exhausts, especially on relatively dull cars such as the vRS, "Knobhead" is usually the first thing that springs to mind. Even moreso on a bog standard piddly engined Clio/Corsa/Saxo/(insert other suitable chav car here - into which bracket the vRS fits into quite nicely, if we're honest)

Quite exhausts are the best that's why you should really go for a turbo back system straight through :-) even add a flamed kit and some go faster stickers lolol only joking

screwdriver in the back box mod. Job done

Or even better why not just take the exhaust off all together lolol

For when you absolutely positively have to make up for what God

didn't give you

to be fair that was actually used to remove the smell of chav before it could be auctioned off.

nice quite fancy that myself is it universal lol

Ooh there's some kill joys on here today. The thread starter asked about a loud exhaust. I've got one so thought I'd comment I don't drive like a fool and I keep the revs down round near home so not to anoy the neighbours, but I do like to wind up the audi a5 and BMW 520d company car drivers and smoke them on a B road. No I'm not a chav or drive like a no! just like a bit of rasp.

Just stick a bicycle inner tube on it:

Or an exhaust whistle... :D
