Brembo 323 discs (floating?)

Featured Replies

Thought I'd put this in here as people use these brakes on Fabias and Octavias. I've got a set on my Fabia, fantastic brakes but I need new discs.

Does anyone know if there are any floating disc setups available?

Cheers

floating as in no screw?

The discs on mine are floating - but when I had brembos I used ultimax discs but don't remember if they had a locating screw.  In theory all discs could be floating if you don't use the screw hole, and just rely on the wheels to hold them on :)

I've never seen a 323mm brembo "rotor and bell" setup before.  My 6 pots have them though and they are good.  In theory it should make changing the discs a bit cheaper as I just buy the material.

Me either.

If you spec a full Brembo GT Junior Kit from new from somewhere like the TT Shop you'll get drilled and slotted Brembo discs IIRC but not "rotor and bell"

Sorry, forgot I posted this. Yeah, I mean the 2 part disc as per your photo Jason. I think some bloke called badger does some for the LCR but they are 330mm discs and the use adapters, I'd rather not do that tbh.

Any other suggestions for decent discs if they're not available? Or just go stock?

I used EBC Ultimax (grooved only) discs on my Brembos which did the job.  Lots of people do say just go stock, but I think the ultimax discs were actually cheaper.

Looked like this

Matt I guess your on about Badger5 a very knowledgable bloke on anything 1.8T 20VT related and an all round nice guy. Races a loopy yellow ibiza in a race series at Coombe.

He is a sponsor on seatcupra.net. HTH

Paid £1,200 for my 6 pot kit, with the DS2500 upgrade.

Are these actually floating or just that they are 2 part?

Floating to me means they rattle as the discs are not bolted to the centre more just held in place by means of some kind of fixing

Ignore the rubbish at the beginning and skip to about 50 secs.
