Featured Replies

hey all

well its been abit of a funny one will try and explain as best i can to cut a long story short a long while back i had a sports cat put in and downpipe loved it but as soon as i got over 60+ had odd moments of on and off boost so got in touch with clive aka cn tuning to be told stage 2 plus sai pump n112 and n249 removed uprated tip to be fitted in jan due to delays from sfs hose's fmic a full service and oil pick up pipe changed plus bits and pieces changed. have been mega impressed with the feel of the power of stage 2. but what im not impressed is the way she runs from cold have phoned/text clive back and forth and have checked for vac leaks found a few things loose so brother being a mechanic sorted them out and car felt better and thought that was all it is. but went to start car today and basically like before almost wants to cut out and is almost impossible to drive went to reverse off the drive and almost couldnt get back on there !!!! if anyone could suggest something i may of missed out then feel free to but am getting to the point where i feel why did i go spend over a 1000pounds for it to feel worse and for me to get more and more angry :( !!!

thanks all

May be stating the obvious but is it misfiring could be coil packs

Hello fellow Ipswich owner! Sorry to hear of your woes. I have a boost surge issue between 3000rpm and 4000rpm at the moment, but I know that it's just the mapping that needs refinement. I have a friend not far away with a rolling road and another friend with VAG-COM/VCDS if you really run out of ideas.

Dude your booked in for me to look at on 6th

As said to you without plugging in its hard to diagnose over phone

Could be a number of things

Coil packs

Fuel pump

Maf

Etc etc

10year old car then pushed to stage 2 other little bits can fail part and parcel of pushing the car again as said on phone

Will more than likely be a 5 min fix but unless car is in the garage I cannot test it Pfizer it's impossible.

Or coolant temp sensor

Clive's the man dude, simples

diagnosing stuff on the fly is not easy and productive, sometime you get lucky , sometimes not.

It will probably be staring you in the face buddy when Clive get's it .

I have seen crank sensors cause the really poor running as well certainly from cold...

will soon find out bowders did have a funny feeling on crank sensor or cam sensor but fingers crossed will get to the bottom of it as with the weather getting colder the problem will only get worse to the point where i will have to walk places and walking to work aint on my top list lol!!

It's not a problem we will sort it

I might be good but I have no ability to predict faults that might happen after a few days weeks of any work, maps that have been done

I also struggle to diagnose an issue over the phone I can only advise as best I can and get you booked in.

Hence you had been booked in for 6th of January as I'm closed for crimbo

But as I'm a nice guy I will open up just for you and find this fault and I will do it for free as it's crimbo.

As said it can be so many different things without testing or logging it's very hard to say its x y or z

See you Monday hopefully we can resolve the issue

All the best

Clive

I wish I had a Clive local to me!

So do I red devil its a good 2 and a half hour drive that last time took me longer due to traffic but there so most people would think I am mad but very few people/garages in Ipswich I trust my car with so would rather Clive sorts it out as I know it will get sorted its just abit unfortunate it plays up near Xmas /new year just need that light at the end of the tunnel

10year old car then pushed to stage 2 other little bits can fail part and parcel of pushing the car again as said on phone

Totally agree with Clive re above.

1.8t's could be a pain after modifications even when new'ish and I don't suppose old age has helped make things any better.

Opening specially at xmas to sort this and offering to do it FOC......by far the best customer service and support I've ever come across.

Merry Xmas

Bill
