Finally clipped a kurb with the alloys !

Featured Replies

After a year of being almost perfect, finally caught a kurb going round a corner in a poorly lit road. You know it's going to happen one day, but you still try and deny it ever will.

Barely caught it !!

So it's not just me that does it then. :D

Take it to a place called "Speedys" if there is one near you 100% recommend them.

Was supposed to have a pic in that last post. O_o. But yeah, they are black so it sticks out.

Always a sickener.

Currently loving having my spare sacrificial winter alloys on at the minute.

Obviously still trying to look after them, but if the worst happened, I wouldn't give a stuff.

I managed about 4yr before I caught one that was hidden in snow.

If it's not bad then silver nail polish actually makes quite a good cover up and protects the metal through winter or until you get it fixed. I clobbered a rock when I was pushed to the side of the road by a van and took a decent chunk out of the wheel. It was fixed without any problems too.

They basically grazed the kerb. You'd probably hardly notice it if it was a plain alloy. Feels horrid to touch too.

feel your pain, although I've only ever grazed one alloy (touch wood) and that was when I was overtaking a car who then decided to over take a car in front of him forcing me onto a kerb. You can usually get them done for £50 a wheel so not too bad.

I love flange :heartbreak:

Rim flange protection on a tyre that is. Has saved me from a few scrapes.

Current Goodyears don't have nearly as much as the cheaper Maxxis I had previously.

If it's any consolation I caught both my offside wheels on a high kerb last week while parking   :wall:

Horrible sound, made my stomach churn.  Entirely my own fault.  I could've cried.
