V10 TDI Fabia

Featured Replies

Heard a rumour about some company up north doing 4wd and mid-engine 5.0V10 TDI conversions for the fab -

Now that would be something!!!

MAJOR mods to the chassis, though.

:rubchin: hmmmm sounds interesting

Would like to see one of them up against a Clio V6!

Well, its good to know they aren't going to try and put it over the front wheels :D

Only trouble I can see is that the V10 + 4wd will make it pretty heavy, but I'm guessing it'll have similar power and tarmac shredding torque which should make up for that ;) Wonder what they include for the

Too heavy AND it would have difficulty putting all that power down!!

Rediculous !!!

Sounds far to cheap, the engine alone must cost nearly that.

the engine for my Boxster would cost

Just the big V-block and two seats

Reminds me of the Metro 6R4 :D

Chris

:D :D

It had better be a 4x4 conversion at the same time or it will just smoke tyres

Is it April already ? For another

maybe it is a second hand V10 from a write off ? :)

If the standard power isn't enough, they could always remap it!

How about 356bhp & 855 Nm!! :D

that sounds alot!!!!!! u could make the world go round faster!

855Nm :thumbup: Thats 200Nm more than a Dodge Viper

With that sort of torque you're certain to make friends with your local tyre supplier

Heavy? Have you seen the weight of a touareg thingy? 2250kg! Thats heavy, and with 750 nm of torque + 313ps i dont think you would notice the slight extra weight increase in relation to the MASSIVE power increase in a Fabia that weighs 1300kgs. Even if you add half a tonne, it would be on a par with a WRC Fabia for performance.

I have serious doubts about this being possible! Engine probably weighs as much as the entire standard car!

If you were going for big diesel power and big bucks, I would imagine you'd be better with a V6 diesel engine, perhaps the VAG 3.0 unit?

Steve

I think the reality of it is, no one in thier right mind is going to do this anyway. You could buy a hell of a car with the money it would cost.

You'd end up with something, err, quite rare - but I agree with you :)

But a mid-mounted VAG 3.2 with DSG might be another matter :D

Fabia 3.2 - hmm, has a certain ring to it ;)

You know that that torque figure is half a vRS Fab and an E55 AMG combined right...absolutely outrageous for a car...

Er ... no ;)

Chris

it would be awesome, but distinctly remember it being said the V10 TDI unit in the touareg had to have its torque output restricted because it could rip the chassid apart if let loose...........so in a Furby.......oh my...

I think your right VW had to de-tune it because the 4x4 system just couldn't take it.

Hmmmm now 3.2V6 furbie, that does sound very nice!
