Fabia I stereo swap - central locking not working

Featured Replies

Hi, I have discovered that Kenwood keys remove 07 Fabia I stereos very easy. But once I fitted the new pioneer, I found my central locking no longer works. Does anyone know why this has happened?????????

i have vague recollections of reading something in the past that suggested some aftermarket stereos could put put 12v on the canbus line, which could cause all manner of issues.

I guess the question is, does it start working again if you disconnect the stereo? Otherwise, i'd by looking at the fuses - it's very easy to pop a fuse, even if you think you've been really careful.

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for the information, I had connected the red, yellow and blue wires incorrectly, the blue wires if connected send 12v to the wrong places causing central locking issues. Connect yellow to red and red to yellow all good.

Also found an easy way to remove a stubborn head unit on an 07 Fabia. 1. take out a few blank switches above the unit 2. put the correct removal keys in the unit (Kenwood). Then use a long piece of steel bar with the end bent 90 degrees, put hook end into gap above unit made by removing blank switches and push it back and down behind the head unit give it a good pull and the unit comes free.

Thanks for help.

Cool. Glad you got it sorted. Happy New year
