Featured Replies

Been thinking about a new battery for a while now as in still on the original i think.

The last couple of below freezing starts the car has struggle a little more than i would like it to so i think a new battery id in order.

But what size, specs do i need and what's peoples recommendation's?

just type in your reg on eurocarparts and select batteries that way you know it will fit and you can choose what you can afford and probably cheapest available

Varta Black C14

Costco Bosch s5 005 65 quid inc 5 year gtee

When my TDI needed a new one I went with a Bosch S5

Excellent batteries actually made by Varta

Bosch Silver Plus S5 - 005 (63ah / 610A)

I got the OEM one for £83 inc vat from TPS which considering its lasted 11 years and 150,000m I reckon is good value ! (ps I could have bought cheaper and would normally choose Bosch from ECP)

The OEM ones are Varta Black C14's with labelling removed ;)

< £65

Dont go for a cheap one with a 2 yr guarantee - they will last 2 years and a day ! - Get one with a 3 or 5 year guarantee

Looks like the Bosch is top of the list at the most for me.

Will give my local garage i use a ring Thursday and see what price he can do before ordering just in case.

Has to be the varta one on eBay, its the same battery as the bosch

Bosch s5 never had problem with these

A Bosch s4 for the vrs is 59 quid from euro car parts ????

Expensive, the varta one is the Bosch s5 for 56 quid inc postage

If it helps, Bosch and Varta automotive batteries are made in the same factory and are both German companies.

This is usefull news to me as I didn't no this

If your keeping the car for a short while buy the cheapest

Sorry to resurrect a post, but I need a new battery. Cheapest I can find at ECP online is £70.80

Current battery has died in the cold, seems to have re-charged fine, but think it's best to get a new one tomorrow.

Where can I get one for £56.00?
