As per title really. Budget of around £100.

I just have a cheap nasty one i've had for years. I could do with something better. Not entirely sure why i still use the current one.

I have a Slik, it came with the head for about £100 a few years ago, it has been well used and is a sturdy piece of kit although not heavy.

Morris Photo are also reasonable for gear.  http://www.morrisphoto.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=Slik

That's a handy site! never been on it before.

I don't normally shop at Jessops but they do a carbon one that's just gone on sale from £100 down to about £70. I'm not sure weather it will be sturdy enough if you get me?

Fair enough its light weight and strong but when the wind hits it.. it'll shake all over.

The one I got had a quality head in with the price too, also the legs can adjust in a whole manner of ways, always good to try one out before you buy.

I have a spare Benbo Trekker, it is a strange tripod that until mastered is like wrestling a deck chair!  Very versatile though, search for Benbo trekker.

Looked it up, moves around all kinda ways. lol

I've heard some bad stories about CF tripods. Things like cracking if knocked or dropped in cold conditions.

Don't know how true they are though.

I have a Manfrotto that I really like. Strong and sturdy (albeit a bit heavy) - will take a Canon 650d with a Sigma 120 - 400 no problems. I have the Manfrotto 496 head to go with it.

Got my gear from here - http://www.premier-ink.co.uk/photographic/-c-60.html

I've got a Benbo trekker - I admit the unorthodox design is a bit tricky at first but once you get used to it, it's fine, and very handy for things low to the ground or in awkward places.

I got it as a gift, with no head, so had to buy one on ebay.

the Jessops carbon one has a stabliser hook, this will allow you to hang something heavy (like your kit bag) from it once the tripod is up, which should make it wobble less.
