stalled in wet weather

Featured Replies

Hi there my fun has stalled at a roundabout in wet weather

I'm sat here now with no tools or wd40 :-(

Obviously aware of problems that can happen if water gets into actual engine. Done basic roadside checks ie dipstick and oil level

This seems ok no clouding or high oil level.

Only been through standing water at any speed and avoided any deeper water.

Rain torrential for days though.

Gonna leave to stand then wd40 electrics dizzy etc

Any helpful advice? Where is the intake on the 1.6

Looking for reassurance she's not dead :'(

RAC not arc

Although with the flooding Noah was my next call

That's a good recommendation. Direct Line won't give breakdown cover with my policy anymore as the Felicia is "too old". I'm getting twitchy about venturing too far from home without cover so will give the RAC a look.

Glad you got moving again without too much expense.

Might be worth a look at Adrian Flux cover. I could get RAC prioity cover at a discount, but I chose AF cover at half that.

I'm generally happy with Direct Line, they've been straightforward to deal with when we've had to and even offered the advice that it would be cheaper for us to have breakdown cover on one policy only as it automatically covered us for any other car that the named drivers were driving or passenger in. Their honesty impressed me.

Recently, however, the breakdown cover has been revised and the age limit now excludes the Felicia. I'll keep Direct Line as insurer but have to start looking for breakdown cover along the lines of AA, RAC, Green Flag for just the sort of eventuality that hit storm27 above.
