16" Steel Wheels with Winter Tyres from Mk1 Octavia

This set of four 16" steel wheels with winter tyres has just come off my Mk1 Octavia 1.8T 4x4 estate prior to its being sold. Wheels are 6.5J with 5-hole 100mm PCD and 42mm offset. They will fit other VAG vehicles apart from the Mk1 Octavia, but regret I can’t list the possible fitments. There is a set of four plastic trims (see one picture) included.

All wheels are in good mechanical condition. One was the original (unused) spare wheel for the car; two others were bought new in the last three years; one was a second-hand item and has some superficial rust.

Tyres are ContiWinterContact TS830P 91H 205/55x16 with tread between 7 and 8 mm on all. Each tyre was £110 when new. All are in good condition with no damage beyond normal wear and tear.

£225 for the wheel/tyre/trim set. I will deliver within 50 miles of my home near M4 Junction 14 in West Berkshire: otherwise I’d need buyer to pay in advance by bank transfer and then arrange collection please.

Some interest shown, but I'm hoping for more.

The excellent web site below shows the cars these wheels will fit. It suggests that my wheels (42mm offset) can be fitted where the required offset is between 37mm and 47mm.

This means there are several versions of Fabia, Roomster, and the new Rapid (as well as Audis, SEATs, and VWs), that these wheels and tyres can be bolted straight onto, but PLEASE check for yourself if you are contemplating such a fitment. I would hate to see anyone make the wrong choice.

For reference these will fit Mk1 fabia, mk2 fabia and Roomster but tyres would need changing to 205/45/16.

Edit: note to self - read above post lol

Good point. Just because the wheels fit doesn't mean the tyres are absolutely the correct size, though often there are alternative sizes. On another car I can't get winters in the same size as summers, for example.

Let's have a little bump up ahead of the colder weather!

205/55 are fine on your old MK1 ;)

Snow, where are you ?? All this :rain: is getting me down, though I'd still rather be on winter tyres even so.

Now sold. Many thanks Martin. Reckon you'll keep moving when others are sliding or stuck this winter
