Central Scotland - VCDS adaptions for Mk3 Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi. I am currently awaiting delivery of a mk3 octavia vrs. (Build week two) and was wondering if there was anyone that could help with vcds adaptions for the car. I have read a lot on the mk3 site and it appears there is more and more being discovered that can be adapted. Would be interested to hear from anyone that has the knowledge and equipment. Thanks.

I've got the kit in Livingston but have not yet tackled a mk 3.plenty experience on mk 1 and 2 (and fabias and yetis and superbs)

All the info you need in the sticky at the top :-)

Got more to add, just need to find the time.

A couple of things such as coding Byte 0 bit 2 of the RLS to enable rain closing is currently with Ross-Tech support as VCDS won't change the coding. Perhaps if Sebastien or anyone from Ross-Tech is reading they could respond to my mail :-) with a solution.

Thanks guys. I will see what can be done when the car arrives.

The trick with the O3 is taking it slowly. Almost everything is done by adaptation changes now, the majority in 09 - Central Electronics. There are over 1740 Adaptation Channels in there, so until you get used to where things are in the list, and also understand a bit of basic German, it can seem a bit daunting.

Take your time, make sure you get the setting exactly (parking light and cornering light are very similar in German for example) right.

Kein problem, ich kann ziemlich gut Deutsch

Ross Tech were closed over Christmas, they might not be back until Monday.

According to their website they were back in on the 2nd

At which point they looked at the 3000 emails they had over Christmas and went for a lie down.

Agreed - I didn't say they were responding straight away

I started back on the 2nd, did chuff all useful work though.

Anyway I'll stop cluttering up this thread with useless info.

Domhall where in Livingston are you? I'm needing my car stuck on vcds for an ecu change if possible. I'm not far away and can supply beer tokens for 20 minutes of you're time. I have the info needed to do it and have the skc code extra required for it being done. Its not a skoda though its an old audi A4 quattro cheers James

top end of livingston if im right?

not to far Im in Slamannan not sure if you'll no where that is but its about 20 mile away

bottom end, to make it easier I can meet you in centre of town (Sainsbury's car park is my usual land mark)

I'm working this weekend though in Glasgow.  How would you be placed for a lunch time mid week?

Yea should be good to do that. I know I'm busy Wednesday as its the wee mans 2nd birthday so I would get my knackers cut off if I was to attempt anything that day.

Would Tuesday be good with you?

bottom end,

Yea thinking about it it would be bottom end.... I was thinking the other way round but I think that's because I lived in craigshill at one point so was thinking on going along the carriage way from there

Hi. Was wondering if anybody in the central belt of Scotland has experience of changing some adaptations on the mk3 VRS ?

I was looking to have some changed on mine if possible.

DOMHNALL - I know you said you had the equipment in Livingston but no experience on the mark 3. Is that still the case ? Thanks.

yup, still the case but loads of experience on Mk1, Mk2, Fabia, Yeti, Audi, Golf, how different can it be?

PS just realised I never got anythign sorted out with jbh325i

so if either of you is looking to get anything done then drop me a PM

Because all the adaptions are in German you just need to very careful you pick exactly the right one, including the numbers at the beginning.

You get bits with the same text but one may start 1Z26 and the other 1Z27 and they do completely different things. You also have several hundred adaptation channels in Central Electrics.

ja doch, aber mine Deutsch ist ziemlich gut.  :hi:

If you can tell me in advance what changes you want made then I will do enough prep in advance to be sure I know what needs changed and what doesn't. And if I can't understand the German then I will do nothing without double and triple checking (if need be with a native speaker)

Andyvee has compiled a good list which details exactly what is required.
