Rear Washer Jet

Featured Replies

This will sound bizzare ... where generally is the rear washer jet located on the vRS ?

Bottom of the wiper arm Im pretty sure.

Cheers Joe, do you know where the pipe runs that connects that particular jet ... I've got a funny feeling its become disconnected as I get the sound and the wiper action but no water.

Are your rear carpets wet. Im unsure on the fab but on other vag cars I have seen them run along the passenger side. My mates a3 become disconnected before around the rear seat area and was soaking the carpet.

They don't seem wet ...

mine leaked in the boot before where it connects to the wiper motor. pipe also disconnected in the engine bay where it goes into the bulkhead

Spray it and see where you get water.

The joint by the bulk head is most common, it's the one exposed to external temperatures after all, if it's that one your have a puddle under the car after attempting to spray.

Once through the bulk head the pipe runs along the passenger side sill and up the trim by the side of the rear seat/wheel arch.

Need to pop the trim off and check under there.

Final place in the the boot lid itself and getting the trim off the boot lid is an absolute ball ache!

That's where I traced mine to a couple of years ago. The trim is a PITA to refit correctly aswel as the parts of plastic holding the spring clips tend to break off and the upright trim pieces have a mind of their own :wonder:

Yeah I had to get a repair kit for mine as the metal bit in the pump itself had disintegrated and I think getting the trim off and on was the hardest part of the entire process.

+1 :(

last time I looked on the bay the price of the repair kit had shot up :(

I paid £42 from TPS a couple of weeks ago for mine.

Still cheaper than a new washer at ~£150, and guaranteed unlike a 2nd hand one from a breakers which could do exactly the same thing.

The part number for the repair kit is: 8L0 998 711

I've had my fabia nearly two years now. Just the other day my washer jet on the rear stopped working for the third time in my ownership. I'm guessing its probably the bulkhead connection again as it has been on the previous occasions

can't really tell, do they have 'daylight' up north :D There in no speshul 'vRS' wiper, they are all the same.

Mine popped off in engine bay that was two year ago not had a problem since.

just always mix my windscreen wash a little stronger so it doesnt freeze and wait 5 min after starting engine so that eveeything should be warm.

well mines been dewipered and im trying my damn hardest to refit a wiper and ive either ended up being sold the wrong one by GWFC who now ignores my PM's and messages so cant get a refund! to getting broken ones, ive hopefully got the correct one from ebay now! who ever dewipered mine didnt block the pipe off just cut it so when you spray it, it sprays into the boot cavity lol

my question is how do i reattach the pipe as its quite hard and its been cut!

Ohhhhhhhh what a surprise. That bloke seriously needs his freedom revoking IMO.

My rear window washer doesn't work either, but I've never investigated it... who needs to see out theback wondow anyway? I think of it like a van.

This happened to mine, if you look down the back of the engine bay on the passenger side, up against the bulk head there is a joint in the pipe, mine came apart here,

If you get some one to operate the rear washer jet you will see the leak,

That's if it is broken there, easy fix if it is

Looks like I have a leak before it goes through the engine bay bulkhead, what is the best way to get at this ?

Anyone ?

Anyone ?

I'd expect if you used the search function wisely, you would find answers, I'm also guessing that the lack of answers to your question backs this up! Go on, you know you can if you need to.
