RS4 WHEELS, FIT OR NOT.

Featured Replies

Hi folks ive got a chance of a set of tasty 18" rs4 rims but the tyres are 225/40 and my fabia is lowered about 35mm do you think these tyres will give much trouble. thanks

Doesn't Tempra007 have his lowered 40mm on 18" rims?

Should be fine

Dependany on ET may require you to ditch the spacers as they might have too much poke.

18" on the Fabia... :o  :o  :mmm:  :mmm:

Itll be close! Lookin at the lowered monte's On 17's. Cant u try before you buy?

You would be needing Adapters,

the RS4 wheels are PCD 5 x 112, Offset already 20-30, centre bore 57.1

This vRS is lowered & on 18's.

I think the tyres were 225/35 R 18, but not certain on that.

(they look like they may only be 215's they way they are stretched.)

You would be needing Adapters,

...Absolutely right, though it's assuming they're genuine Audi ones, which isn't clear. The Mk4 Golf boys went through a phase of everyone having 18" RS4 replicas (5x100) a few years back so there are tons of them floating around. So check carefully whether they're Audi 5x112 or replica 5x100s.

Thanks dude the guy selling them says they are 5x100 and were fitted to mk4 golf.

Golf sized tyres are too big, need 35 profile.

Mine's lowered 40mm but on 17's I have tried 18's with 225-35-18 with no problems (but I didn't take it for a long drive, just round the block)

You'll get a lot of speedo error with Golf sized tyres, for a Fabia you need a much lower profile on 18s.

That linked car in the photo looks awesome. Just mind the potholes,...

There lies the problem, with all the best intentions in the world, you set off to drive always missing potholes.

Then keeping up with traffic, or going through puddles or floods on roads you do not know or even overtaking a vehicle you hit one and hit one hard.

Punctures or split tyres are bad enough, very dangerous, an Alloy that fractures can be a major event.

I hit a big pothole on the outside lane, lorries inside me and i was touching cloth.

Steel Wheel and not low profile luckily for me, the layby was filling up with cars with wrecked alloys. more than one often.

Yup lad at work with a nice burnt orange BMW 1 series 123d Coupe (the one in the pic in my build thread) did the same.

His was a very expensive lightweight alloy and it folded itself in two.

Its not easy in a car at all. With traffic coming the other way, you dont have much room to negotiate around them even in a small car like a fabia.

Ask any biker though, and its much more critical for us to avoid them especially on corners etc. But we do have alot more room to move around.

I love the look of big wheels and low profile tyres, on coilovers or lowering springs, but i just dont think its practical at all on the road. My best mate has a civic on coilovers with 215/30 r15 tyres and its just horrible to be in. Sounds like the car is about to fall to bits when you hit a bump and its soo uncomfortable.

My se fabia seems as smooth as an audi when i get out of his horrible thing haha

Second thoughts. Dont listen to me. Im too sensible for my age when it comes to cars. Im 21 and would rather have an elegance over a monte carlo. Whats wrong with me? Haha.
