Thanks all.

Touching on your hire car issue.

I also cant stand vauxhalls. Had them a few times as hire cars around 6 or 7 years back (Astra's). Cheap, underpowered cars, with horrible materials. Indicator stalks were just plain odd.

Eventually got fed up using Europcar as they only ever seemed to have vauxhalls.

Yeah - we get them all the time from Enterprise through work.  Corsa, Astra, Insignia, Mariva, Zafera depending on what class you order, although occasionally you'll get a golf or toledo.  I once got an Avensis - which was just numb.

That Astra took the p***, just far far too underpowered.  It did however have normal indicators so perhaps Vauxhall are getting rid of the weird ones.  I'd love to know what the hire car companies actually pay for them as it was supposedly about 18k according to the vauxhall site.

The insignia is ok, better on the motorway than the Octavia imho because of the extra weight but no where near as good a car and far more cramped.

  • As, I hope, a final update on this...  Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support.   So the car is back again, this time the window is fixed, the repair looks perfect and the car came back

  • Your damage is minor and an experienced body shop will fix it without replacing any panels or using any putty - knotting. Plus your car is brand new so there will be absolutely no colour differentiati
