Smf conversion technical advice

Featured Replies

I have been looking through various threads about the VR6 / G60 glitch conversions for the vrs and the acompanying bits needed and think I'm pretty much set.

However, what happens regarding the slave cylinder / release bearing?

I thought the octy ran a concentric salve cylinder (inside the box) but from all the listings and topics I've read I can't see any mention of what is needed or if it actually is one.

My car is back from the warranty work where they changed the master and pedal clips as they went pop but the clutch has definitely seen better days and want to prevent it happening again with the new parts currently fitted.

Can anyone help on this as the car is still off the road and having to borrow cars when and where available :(

I've just had mine changed. Didn't touch slave abd fitted the vr6 release bearing.

Ah right. Wasn't sure if was totally necessary to replace the slave at the same time.

Was advised to get one by my mate but wasn't sure if would be standard octy one if I do get one.

Thanks for your help, was just wondering if any recommendations as to which way is best too :)

Slave cylinders bolted to top of gearbox, pop bonnet its sat on top of gearbox,

Use VR6 release bearing that comes with kit

Ah ok, I thought it had an internal concentric salve cylinder.

Haven't looked at the exterior of the box much at all but that's cool then.

Thanks for the reply :)
