Has anyone upgraded these on Fabia's

Featured Replies

Recently with low sun I've noticed my sun visors are pretty poor, has anyone upgraded them to ones that are a bit bigger and effective. If so what ones fit without to much modification.

The other thing is the screen wash bottle.

My last car an Audi A4 had a 6L washer bottle and it's spoiled me a bit. Even my alfa 147 had 3 or 4L.

Is there any other ones that are bigger that would fit into the fabia.

The car is a Mk1 (vrs)

I know the washer bottle capacity is a MASSIVE annoyance to us all.

A washer bottle from a Xenon equipped car will be about twice the size. :)

I rarely find the need for washer fluid, so tend to get on fine with the 2 litre or so capacity,

The washer bottle thing has been ****ing me off recently! Having to fill it every other day!

The silly thing is that it's mainly because after you give the windscreen a squirt, it swipes 3 times and then after a few seconds swipes again smearing **** across the screen!! So annoying.

Jason can it be turned off?

I'll need to keep an eye out for a xenon one then. I hate running out and topping it up every day or 2 is a bit annoying.

I actually though it must have a leak the first time it ran out.

Hi Korban I was reading your post last night when it popped up in a search for sun visors. But wasn't sure if they were deeper ad I noticed you changed for a different reason.

Loving the look of your interior. ????

You can turn off the tear wipe feature thing on vcds, dont know how though. You can alter the timing too

Change my sun visors for some from an Audi A3

Just had a wee look on ebay and there are loads available from Audi A3. Do you know what year yours came from or are they all pretty much the same sizes.

From an a Mk1 1999 to 2003, was not that much deeper only about 3 or 4 mm iirc

Hmm. Thanks.

Not sure if 3/4mm would be enough to make a difference.

Might need to just adjust the seating position or see if there are any other bigger ones I could use.

You can jack up the front seat which will bring them into your eyeline better.

My washer fluid lasts about two weeks now, when i first got car the rear wash was crap and would use loads up in one wash but I found one of the pipes was slightly off and checked all others and now lasts ages.

My washer bottle seams to last ages . But got projector head lights :P never would have thought it be bigger

just put rainex on your windows.. no need to use wipers in the rain then :)

think ill have to look into this. .. winds me right up aswell

Change my sun visors for some from an Audi A3 one (but for a different reason) they were a bit deeper but narrower which is what I wanted

Hi Karl, dunno if you're aware but the Sunroof equipped Fabias dont have the bit you wanted rid of, instead having a flap that folded down from the head liner.

These would probably be a nicer fit than the A3 ones which look a little short.

Thanks Gobsheene, I did know that but they are hard to find especially in black.

Plus I had them as a job lot with the A3 grab handles

That's what I'm doing and it works but I don't like the driving position then. And with the amount of driving I do I like to be comfortable.

There was a how to with pictures to change the bottle for the 5 litre one if you do a search. Saying that with 5 litres I'm still filling up at least once a fortnight although I do have the headlamp washers as well.
