Getting a Mk3 vRS

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I don't get on here as much as I used to,but I'm upgrading to Mk3 vRS Diesel.

Mk2 Petrol went sale agreed yesterday so it allowed me to put my name on an unregistered showroom car. Hopefully by the middle of the week I will have it.

There are more options on it than I was looking for but this way I dont have to wait 12-16 weeks and juggle the timeline of a sale of Mk2.

So any tips/advice on Mk3 vRS please let me know.

Enjoy it ;)

Whats the spwc mate, and colour, itl be worth the extra spent on the spec for not having to wait,

I think your in a good position, it appears that the car you are getting has many options fitted? for most on this forum who have placed orders with many options specced have had a long.......long wait, me included. So in the mean time found lots  of time to keep an eye on this forum, for better and more and more for the worse. Then things start to play on your mind, perhaps isn't the car for me!!!!

Trust Me after 6 Months of waiting it's all the car that you'll ever want.

Good choice and happy days to come.

I grabbed a decent spec showroom one because I didn't fancy a lengthy wait.

As for advice, LadyVienna sums it up nicely, enjoy!

You have the folding mirror, that is useful. It is not in the UK spec not even an option!

Sounds good.

Enjoy your wheels !

Great spec, look forward to pics...

Another cracking decision but SUK - their choices do suck sometimes. Had that classic restriction where you couldn't have a Multi-Function steering wheel on the Mark II FL unless you had DSG.

Very very very nice!

Perhaps it's me, and I'm not referring to yours in particular, but the first mod I'm going to apply to my estate (when arrived) is the removal of roof bars.

I don't plan to use them so often to justify the constant drag and added noise (Indeed I never needed them on my cars).

On your white one, I feel I would like the profile even more.

Nice car man, where in Ireland are you? I'm in Galway and my vRS is due this week I hope.

Best of luck with it.

I suppose it's hard to say what it will look like until someone tries it.

An estate without the bars is a bit like a Lambo with an ordinary set of doors.

I'm in Dublin. What colour are you going for?

Very nice GAFF!

same look as mine, can't wait until mine arrives.

I like the red nets, are those from Skoda or from another store, i think i might get them if available in the uk.

Some really nice photos, you have some talent for it. Awesome car, looks quite similar to mine. ;)

The added drag is minimal if you don't have the transverse roof bars installed. And there is no added noise even at (high) speed. I have them and you don't notice any noise at even >100 mph.

They're available as accessories from Skoda.

Yea, got through Skoda. I asked the Dealer for net set and he choose the red ones for me to match the interior stitching.
