Collected ours today. The champagne gold lasted nearly two hours. It wasn't AS bad in the flesh as I thought it would be, but we were both instantly so much happier with the ambience of the interior once the trim was swapped out for the silver.

How do you get the trim off? It pills away from the glovebox side really easy but I can't figure out how to pull it away from the centre console. Do you have to remove the radio/climate panel etc?

Yeah, just pop the radio / climate trim off first. Then just work your way down the big trim from the top at both sides, taking care to pull fairly straight out rather than angling it too much.

 

When re-fitting the big trim, clip it in from the bottom, under the climate controls first and work your way up.

Ok thanks. Next question -how do you remove the radio panel - no obvious screws - does it just pull off?

Yeah, it just pulls off. I pulled the radio panel off starting at the bottom edge. Take care not to scratch your beautiful champagne gold as you lever it off.

Great thanks. Just need to source some replacement trims now as the dealer doesn't seem to be in any hurry to sort this out.

Anyone got part numbers for the silver trims?

Get them wrapped - 3M do some superb finishes.

I'm familiar with wrapping - I've also seen what happens when the car gets hot and the wrap comes away - It's a brand new car - I want the brand new silver parts!

I wrapped ours. If the wrap ever peels or we get bored with the carbon effect I can just by some more wrap for all of a tenner and do it again. could go for snake skin, or a flip paint colour, or even leopard print or maybe not. Cheaper than new trim but then again i'm a tight git.

Picked up our Elegance on Tuesday and the inserts are not as bad as I feared. Mind you they look like they will be easily scratched so would replace with brushed silver then.
