Arn't dealers wonderful!

Featured Replies

OK, so I don't post that often on fora (forums, flora (no that goes on my toast)) but here's the Hairball take.

Sales person types

  • The Sales Executive (trainee under 20, male only, I've never seen a trainee female sales exec under 20 although they may exist in the wild or have been posing as the Sales Executive (20 - 30) Never spotted in an err... up market dealership but often in multi franchise show rooms.
    • Apart from the skin complexion (think the face of many heads) looks reasonably well presented in a white shirt ironed by his mum complete with one button that is either a different shape and or shade than the rest and a tie that is either too long or too short and/or on backwards. Uses chip fat hair oil and smells of cheap soap. Sits on a stool at the corner next to the cheaper cars in the dealers range and has a chipped smiley face coffee mug with with the handle glued back on badly. Seems to perspire a lot and is very unsure of how to handle full duplex conversation with a prospective buyer. Any question from the said perspective buyer has to be verified right away with the boss in the glass encased office (usually takes upward of 5 minutes to return) Any post sales problems are directed to the  boss in the glass encased office
  • The Sales Executive (20 - 30 year old trainee, may be male or female)
    • Has all the specifications as the model above with the following upgrades. Very well turned out with a suite that fits and will never be worn without the jacket undone even in extremely high temperatures.  Sits in a comfy chair at the mid price cars in the dealers range. Zero signs of perspiration. Has regular 10W40 multi grade oil in his hair (or super hold hair spray if she's a err... a she) Looks a tad orange and usually has very white teeth. Shiny odd shaped shoes. Usually found trying to steal a sale from the above. Always wears sun glasses on test drives, even in the dark. Puts on trendy expensive non prescription glasses to look intelligent to look at the sales blurb. Known to polish invisible marks from display vehicles when prospective buyers of budget cars appear until a sale seems likely.. Any post sales problems are directed to the  boss in the glass encased office
  • The Sales Executive (Senior)
    • Has all the specifications as the model above with the following upgrades. Expensive Swiss watch gear oil used in hair (or a wig). Real wool suite that used to fit. Jacket is never quite fully buttoned and is ejected as soon as he/she returns and sits down at the homely comforts of the large comfortable seat at the sales desk situated next to the most expensive dealers range of the cars on sale. Unable to frown due to possible small signs of botox application. Perma tan is now indelible and teeth may be false due to over corrosive properties of the whitener obtained from the workshop. Usually found trying to steal a sale from the above as well as above the above....  Has to put on expensive prescription glasses to read the sales blurb. Always has the seat under the air conditioning outlet. Known to disperse completely when prospective buyers of budget or mid range cars appear until a sale seems likely. Any post sales problems are directed to the  boss in the glass encased office
  •  The boss in the glass encased office
    • The existence of this person has yet to be determined.

Please note. No sales executives were harmed during the construction of this post. Any similarities to people alive or dead are purely coincidental.
