felicia arb

Featured Replies

Managed to get a brand new 22mm front anti roll bar for a bargain 27quid! Now i know i will need the inner bushes and droplinks to match, but my question is can i use the original clamps that go around the inner bushes? Or are they bigger for the 22mm bar?

Clamps are the same, the outer bushes/drop links are the same on the 20mm and 22mm versions, it's only the inner bushes that are specific to the 22mm bar.

I found that out when tring to fit 22mm arb on my slxi and craked my self over the head with it trying to fit to 20mm bushs.....

...and craked my self over the head with it trying to fit to 20mm bushs.....

well, that explains a lot...

If only you know me... before you judge me

Aren't you breaking your slxi? Does that mean you have a spare ARB?

Do they make a difference to the way the car handles?

I have my old 20mm arb spare ;)

I would say it makes a difference, the felicia as standard is quite a rolly car so adding a anti roll bar will take alot of that out. I think it makes the car feel alot more stable and abit more precise.

Yes definitely worth retro-fitting a anti roll bar, you can almost make the door handles scrape the floor on one that doesn't have one fitted when you go round a sharp bend.

Were they not fitted as standard?

no they were not.

I don't have ARB.

but if you don't rally drive with 5 people inside,

there is no danger to scrape door handles in corners.

I dont think the 1.3s got them but 1.6 and 1.9 got them as standard i think. But its piece of cake to fit one to a 1.3

I have a 1.3 so no front ARB :(

What do i need to fit a 22mm ARB then? Will all mounting points, etc be there already?

Where are the parts available from? Dealer?

Thanks

Yes the mounting points should all be there. You need droplinks, inner bushes and the clamps to go around the inner bushes held in by i think a m8 bolt. I got my inner bushes from the skoda dealer a couple weeks ago so i guess the other parts are still available. Not sure if the actual anti roll bar is available though, got mine off ebay.

No that's no necessarily right nuggets old son, most of them have the mounting points on the front subframe but not all, likewise not all of them have the track control arms fitted with the extra hole for the roll bar link. It is farily straightforward to swap it all over though.

yes the anti roll bar both 20mm and 22mm are both still available to buy new from skoda dealer, but they are circa £85, and the rear one that bolts to the rear axle beam is now obsolete and they were around £22 when available

Ah right sorry, i thought it was just the favorits that didnt have the mounting points. Easy enough to have a look under the car and see if they are there or not.

Yeah the most important ones are the ones on the subframe, it's like a thin slot and just in front of it is a captive nut type fitting which is tapped, I'll see if I can't find a picture.

Not a good pic but there all there on the felicia x member
