Some nice chap , snapped off the roof  Ariel on my fun,....  do I have to demolish my interior to fit a new one?

Hi John,

Depends where it's been broken. If it's just the top section then it should unscrew. If it's the base, then yes, although it's a fairly easy job to take the lining out. From what I recall the roof-lining is all "tucked in" fit. From there it'll be a five minute job. You could get a yellow one as a replacement ;) ;)

Will have a look in the box at the weekend, I might have the top part from one of the old trucks.

Hi Rainbow, Thanks for that, but the base is broken as well, so I will have to fit the whole thing,  but I do like the sound of that yellow one, do you know who sells them?

I thought Ariel was a washing powder or a mermaid :(

Thanks for that pearl of wisdom lee, it's very bold of you to point that out.

It's never good when your Ariel does a Vanish ing act.  Can't you remove the interior light and unbolt the base of it, rather than removing the headlining and fitting a new cable?

Thanks for that pearl of wisdom lee, it's very bold of you to point that out.

why can't you be called Darren :(

I'm fairy sure that the aerial cable runs down the left hand a pillar behind the plastic trim, I seem to remember that mr fordfan is right, you just remove the interior light to get to the retaining nut.

I may be right?, that's a Comfort, or am I going soft?, it must be conditioning.

It would appear that this has become a hot point of topic, oh I seem to remember that the cable us on a ring terminal on the aerial base, so you won't need to change the cable, should make the job a febreeze to complete.
