First week review in my vrs

Featured Replies

The standard speakers are pretty decent though, with a decent aftermarket head unit they sound much better!

hellfire, 203 bhp?? whats that all about?? what mods? sorry to change the subject.

Cupra Intake, Green Panel Filter, Pikey Mod (TT vent) & Fog light surround Pikey Mod 2 & Jabba remap (was 191 bhp - 195 on full) & a rolling road day at Top Gear performance in Doncaster and that's what figure my car came up with. No doubt an optimistic RR though, I expect it is really around the 170-180 BHP figure.

Having said all that here are my results on a 1/4 mile & 0-60 run at Elvington.

0 - 60 (Secs) : 6.63

0 - 100 (Secs) : 17.08

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.04

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 93.81

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.84

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 95.45

I'm going to have to learn how to grab quotes, instead of having to write your names - copy and paste and tick that boxes below or something.

Robbo51, I'm going from memory and talking about the original clio, the depth from the back of the seats to the tailgate doesn't seem great, I only really noticed when we bought a small cheap vacuum, the box took up most of the boot leaving not much room for anything else, but to be honest who cares, if I'd wanted a big boot I would have bought an estate.

JonTDI, modding? looking to get one of those new sony eric. w800i phones and get it connected to the headunit somehow, FM modulator or something. That's not the modding you're talking about, I'm going to give it a lot of thousand, then post on here, and see if any of the boys with remaps, pushing 280lb.ft and see if there clutches are still intact, I'm not convinced, especially in the first couple of gears, though looking at Hellfire's figures I almost don't care.

Doug, it's the fabia mate, when/if I have a family the oct vrs will be next, then I can get the estate and have the best of both worlds, big boot and speed.

Hellfire, respect is due mate, optimistic rolling road or not, can't imagine an extra 100lb.ft

Agree with some of the guys earlier about the tyres in the wet, was showing some friends, 4 up, on some unknown country roads in the rain, and was amazed at the confidence I had in the car, it's been years since my boy racer days, and I was taking it steady and safe, but still, the speed I was able to carry shocked me, not to mention my friends, who were glad to get out, a little shaken.

If you look at the JBS RR day you will see that every mapped vRS was in the region of 280-320 lb/ft of torque :D

Id say this a very good review en x CTR driver into the vRS this certainly is the best review Ive read of anyone from this website.

It almost sells the car without having seen one.

LOL that's what I came from, DOH! Ibiza Cupra TDi is the way forward, haven't seen one on the road yet :D

Test drove one of those before getting my Furby last week. Scared the hell out of me, but would have loved to have got one had I not been worried about insurance or depreciation. :thumbdwn:
