PD and CR production dates

Featured Replies

Hi Im looking at buying a Diesel Octivia vRS, around a 2010/2011. Would i be correct in saying that the PD engine was dropped in 2008 therefore all 2010/11 TDi vRS's would be a common rail?

Thanks

Jimmy

I think so.

Start one up and then you'll know straight away.

There is also a difference in the engine covers. CR has slanted lines, PD vertical lines.

I bought my 2012 CR from a Skoda main dealer yet it was listed on Autotrader as a PD. I made sure to check but it's quite obvious once you start the engine, as Fr0d says.

So if you're looking at an online advert for a late one that lists as PD, it may just be the dealer's or autotrader's mistake.

On the vRS yes.

Although on standard cars PD's were not completely dropped until September 2010 (when tougher EU emissions laws made it necessary).

Its ok we've bought a 62 plate :)

Yeah May 2008 it was officially binned off in the vRS, but because of the amount produced you can still get PD's in then until Oct 2008, so your well away from a PD on that year :-)
