Alpine Driving Holiday

Featured Replies

This year my age will end in a 0 and I'm looking for ideas for a trip to the alps to for 10 to 14 days in early September thinking about taking my own car to drive some mountain passes, long trip as I live up in the north of Scotland, but having driven to Greece a few years back with my work it will not be a problem, though flying and hiring a car may be an option... just looking for any hints or tips and I will be on my own...

Slovenia and Northern Italy

Simply stunning!

A few years ago I organised a 10 day schlep through Europe for Brisky that took in Millau bridge, a few passes, gorges and the odd glacier. Maps are here:http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/102453-2008-road-trip-route-instructions-and-maps/ and general piccies and write up is here

Also did a shorter one: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/158157-road-trip-2010/

If you fancy something a bit longer and taking in more countries and sites then I also did a 2 week trip with swmbo with time in Modena and Sant'Agata http://www.planetmx5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4280

Also done a couple of cycling tours in the Alps and Pyrenees, http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/244906-1000-miles-completed-pic-heavy/

It will be the best holiday you ever take and the Alps are addictive :) If you want any further info feel free to pm me.
