my GF has a favorit Blackline, which failed its MOT on the following:

Offisde rear upper coil spring mounting corroded

 

 

I can't locate this in the manual -can anyone help to point out what *exactly* that is, so I can get it for her?

I would assume that it is the bodywork mounting that protrudes into the boot. Where the rear shock absorber bolts through. I imagine it's similar to the Felicia model for rear shock mount? Correct me if I'm wrong Favorit owners.

If you have access to the vehicle can you see the corrosion?

Either from underneath or by pulling the rear side cover off in the boot.

Must be either the mounting point described by vwroadster (above) or the spring top mounting cup. The latter would be the easier fix, if you are reasonably handy with spanners and would only cost a few quid. The former would require welding.
