See what Chris comes back with as an offer and go from there!

Just a couple of pics for reference:

sorry to see you are seling dude!

lovely looking car btw:>

Ok let's put this way . I've seen this car and in all honestly it's amazing. The paintwork really has a depth to the shine and being one of the last ones made with enthusiast owners all it's life. If anyone is looking for one of the very best mk1 octy's to either enjoy as is or indeed take to the next level then this is for you. Price I'd say in actual fact £3750 minimum.

Cheers Pete :)

Although i think it may well be worth it i will need to sell in the next couple of months so that might be abit of an ask!!!

You can always come down bud :)

This is true, if i can get it standardised and on the market in next few weeks, might be worth a try for a while!

Not fancying pink spiders then lol

Ill have 4x spiders with brand new tyres going up for sale in the next week or 2.

i also have 4 standard springs and 2 front shocks if you need them?

Stunning car shame your selling.

I have pm'd you mate?

Nice looking example,id try selling it as it is,the rear bumper looks good, coilovers are a bonus,if im honest im not a fan of the wheels but lot of car for the money. (best colour for a mk1 vrs too!)

Trying to find replacement spiders at the most.

Might put it up for sale as it is, well will have a new battery.

As it is is a fixed price of £3300 fair?

I shouldn't have found this thread!

I loved that car from the moment I picked it up with 7 miles on.  As Sam said, it has been used but never abused and was an amazing family car.  If I didn't have to squeeze three kids in the back, I'd have it back off you tomorrow.  The paint was treated with Diamondbrite before I collected it from the dealer and I tried to keep it in good nick in the six and a half years we had it.  The kids still ask for it back on a weekly basis and the Mrs nearly cries every time she sees a vRS.  That's probably something to do with the fact that all three of our children were brought home in the back from the hospital in that car when they were newborns.  Happy memories....

I reckon someone would have it with the mods on as it looks fantastic now.  Whatever, good luck with the sale Sam.

Thanks mate :)

Wish i could keep it as its a fantastic car!

But i just cant afford the extra commute costs that goes with the house move :(

Im gonna hopefully get it washed and waxed Thursday and get some pics and put a forsale thread up, if it doesn't sell in the next few weeks then ive hopefully got a option or 2 for spiders and then in sure it will sell once back to standard!

What about chris

Fresh refurb spiders would be cool

Yeah Chris was an option but it would have meant putting Achilles on.

Which although having 4 new tyres is a selling point, budgets on a vrs might be a sign of stuff done on the cheap etc

Which is the way i would look at it if i was going to be buying.

Lloyd do your internet searchind wizardry and find some cheap mid range tyres!

I did PM Terkin as hes got his 17s on ebay with falken 205/50s, i would buy the tyres of him as might mean he could sell just the rims easier. But no response, anyone able to contact him??

Gee uses achillies and swears by them

I think with chris it would be due to hi end refurbed rims

I was talking to him about jon at the wheel specialist

So theres £300 nearly lol

So with 80 quid a corner he is spending more than he could grab the rims for ;(

Nankang ns2 - the rep sucks

The other chris was thinking about was the nankang as-1 which hasnt been too bad on vics altea and zafira tbh

The achillie and as-1 look funky tho :D

The otherthing is i supose u could see what his spiders are like and instead of a quality refurb look into a quick blow over or such and good rubber ?

Seems cheap would be - achillies ( im gna try on vics )

Mids - falken ze914 ish

Then id say rainsport 3s

Or hi up eagle f1 aysemetric 2s

About £65 - £70 for a rainsport 3

I think in over thinking it all too much and worrying about little money in the end.

I want to get as much as i can for parts or for the car but ultimately i do need to sell in the next couple of months!

Will talk more with Chris!

It's a matter of you sell it and where you sell it. Putting it in the car throttle classifieds and also the Pistonhead's classifieds is most likely your best bet as there's alot of modifiers checking out those classifieds now. Mk1 VRS's are now becoming quite sought after by modifiers (and becoming more and more). Your's is absolutely mint by the looks of things but even then you won't get over the 3k mark, advertise over 3 but expect to get 26-2800. Putting the stock wheels back on is a good plan as you can sell those on via wheel trader or any one of the forums to get a bit more cash back but if it involves having to buy a set of spiders to put them back then I wouldn't bother TBH. You want a modifier/petrolhead to buy this car, not someone just looking for a family runaround to run into the ground and that's where pistonheads and car throttle come in. EBay  can be good but you'll get hundreds of tyre kickers from there.

Shame, if you;d been selling it a few weeks back I'd have it off you my self
