help octavia vrs 1u problem clutch ?

Featured Replies

Right bit of a weird one to me set off today in my octavia pulled off as usual no problems drove for about 5 mile as normal through gears no problems then all of a sudden in 3rd 4th and 5th the revs went up quicker than usual and wasn't picking much more speed up as if the clutch was slipping dropped back down to 3rd again and the problem had gone and drove through gears as normal and then later on I took it for a quick blast and it did it every now and then :s no burning clutch smell or anything no difference in clutch pedal travel or feel no vibrations etc strange one anyone else had this problem before I start stripping it down and investigate

Anyone ?

Sounds like the clutch.

SWMBO's Seat Leon does the same thing, 1st and 2nd are fine but put any power down in 3/4/5th and the revs fly with no noticable acceleration but only does it now and again - new clutch to fix it.

But once u get past 3.5k I can boot it n no slip at all baffled to me lol

That's a slipping clutch. Will always occur in higher gears at the onset of peak torque so around 3k fir the petrol.
