It's going to be dry Monday so the track wheels and tires are coming out :)

Do you have an open face helmet for Monday Charlie?

If not I may have one your size.

Yes I have an open face one :) if you could bring it anyway Richard, my brother chris is coming along :)

What an awesome day. Glorious sunshine all morning and a bit overcast this afternoon. No rain !

We arrived bright and early and made use of the garage that Boss Fox had reserved (thanks very much) noise testing, briefing and sighting laps done we ventured onto track. For this first session I had Dark Hero riding shot gun. Car was ok but under braking there was a fair amount of vibration from the brakes. Five laps in this had dissappeared I can assume some pad transfer had taken place due to normal road driving which the Ferrodo DS2500 pads are known for. What followed was a fantastic track day. The old GTR of Boss Fox was stunning and just blasted past every one else. Even in limited boost running in guise. Just amazing and so clean for a 22 year old car. Dark hero's Fab VRS was very capable and the sheer grip generated from his track tires was very evident. Also this was his first track day at the Brands Hatch circuit . And by the look of his grin he enjoyed it ! As for my old octy I think it surprised a few of the other participants. Quote of the day goes to Boss Fox when passengering with me said " if you catch and overtake that 911 carrera 4 I'm going to P155 myself laughing" half a lap later Boss Fox was indeed laughing. Buddy also enjoyed himself riding shotgun and also taking the wheel of the Dark Hero beast for one session.

So all in all an excellent day out with no casualties which is always good.

Perfect write up Pete. What an amazing day.

I had a few creaks and knocks coming from the car, but it's still in one piece :D

Diff needed for future :)

Great day.

Great to meet up.

Will dig out a few pictures and a vid clip or two later, but looking after a child now...

Curious about my lap times. :D

I had fun it was nice to meet up and Richard skyline is very quick. (thanks for the passenger ride   Richard).

If you curious about lap times Richard the Porsche spyder next to us was doing 56 seconds laps.

An amusing quote from pistonheads...

The skyline was awesome. At one stage it backfired right infront of me and I ate the fumes of whatever fuel additive it was running then when it locked up I ate some tyre smoke too! The joys of an exige with the roof off.

And another...

The gtr was superbly quick and the black Skoda vrs's fairly get along!...  The Caterham factory boys in the620r in the next garage intimidated the hell out of me :)  but all seemed to have a good time.

I think he may have been telling porkie pies.

Because I drove past him several times and my best lap was 58 seconds, possibly due to hardly any with no traffic.

He had a data logger on his phone Richard, strangely the quickest lap he did was when I was ballast :-) all the other laps were over a minute

Did you get any pics or video today Charlie ?

Glad everyone had a good day.

I wouldn't believe the phone data loggers too much.

Here is mine from Oulton Park

I've put the pics on both project threads of the other participants today. :)

Will try and look at the videos tomorrow.

Not had a chance to check my drive recorder yet Pete. Hopefully have something worthwhile :)

Just checked it, not good news. It turns out, me, technology and race tracks are yet to get on. I have some lovely videos of the drive to brands hatch, but once parked up I must have knocked the power cable out of the cigarette lighter socket :( so once again, no track footage from me.

Really think its time to get it hard wired :)
