Octavia vRS CR TDI MPG

Featured Replies

What are people getting every day driving or driving it hard? Stock or mapped? I've been on the look out for one of these for a good while to replace the Fabia (once I fix that :wall: ) since I need better economy. It's the estate one I've been more interested in.

i have just started a simular thread. my remapped vrs got 44mpg on a run to the lakes the other day. not hanging about

Perfect thanks. I've heard of some owners getting them down to 30mpg with caning it but that's still better than I get from my Fabia vRS going around town.

i have come from a remapped fabia vrs. i was getting better mpg on a run out of my fabia. i could get 47 and even 50mpg regularly

I'm coming for a Mk2 Fabia vRS. Doing 100 miles a day now. 38-40mpg nursing it but if I want to get home that's easily less than 30mpg and at it's very worst 24mpg

mine was a mk1

I average 47-48 mpg a tank doing mostly motorway driving with a bit of town, 60 miles a day. No remap but ive heard they can improve mpg a bit...

And i dont tend to hang around

I definitely don't hang about and I pretty much always get 48-52mpg. Not remapped.

I don't hang around and I get 40 mpg day to day. I have seen it as low as 27 mpg when driving it hard but to get it much lower you'd need to be on a track to do it safely. Mine is standard btw.

I get 41 thats it. Live in the stix no flat straight roads

My brim to brim calculations have ranged between 46 and 51, with 47/48 being the most common. Mainly mixed motoring but no stop start commuting. All done on a stock engine which has now done nearly 8k.

I'm averaging 47MPG day-to-day. That's doing a 80 mile a day round-trip to and from work, mostly motorway in rush hour. I've seen individual trips hit 53MPG if the traffic is free-flowing, I've also had 44MPG when I've... ahem... gotten home quicker than usual ;)

I left the 'trip 2' computer on for 1700 miles last month and it showed an average of 47MPG, so I'm pretty pleased with that.

Thanks guys. It sounds ideal as I never hang about and it's nice to know I can get home quickly without worrying too much about the cost

Ah yeah that's a question. How do you get the trip 2 up? I've always seen the trip 1 but wondered how to access the 2? If that makes any sense at all?

a pretty unspectacular 46ish from my unmolested cr170.

my mapped 200ish bhp derv civic averaged 55 under the same driving conditions and they both tip the scales at roughly the same weight. disappointing.

Button on underneath of right hand stalk

what is the reason for trip 1 and 2? they always show different mpg?

When you have the trip 1 screen up on the maxidot just press the reset button (don't hold it as it will reset trip 1) and it should flick over to trip 2

Don't forget the maxidot can be a little bit optimistic and its far more accurate if you do brim to brim calculations based on miles dove divided by fuel used.....

One of them shows the mpg for that trip, the other is a running total which eventually resets if you don't do it yourself after a set milage (can't remember what it is but its several 1000s)

Ah I don't have maxidot. So that's that idea out of the window lol. Cheers anyway.
