So a quick bump and another question - is VAG CAN PRO worth the extra £85 ish given it can code as well?

OK well I thought I'd do a final update on this as I've now purchased th T55.

Overall generally happy with it for th emoney.  It is clearly VAG orientated and has successfully allowed me to scan and clear codes not only on the engine side of things but also central electronics (lighting) etc.  It may be a bit clunkier in use than VCDS and can't code but it's done the job I wanted it to do on the Octavia (now moving on to the Fabia) and will also do other non VAG vehicles.

It came with OBD lead, USB update lead, case, manual and a CD manual and 213 page list of manufacturer specific fault codes as well as DTC look-up software.

So overall a happy bunny as I now have a tool that can be used many times for clearing codes across pretty much all systems for the price of one dealer scan.

That sounds good. I've just received mine in the post today, so will have a play at the weekend with it.

How you guys getting on with the T55 I'm thinking of getting one.

  • 1 year later...

Update: Very clunky interface. If you try and scan a module that is not supported then it takes ages trying to connect to it before giving up and telling you the module is not supported. Doh! This wastes quite a bit of time. I should make a list of what is supported and what is not - however, pulling out nasal hairs with tweezers seems more appealing....

Cannot work out service interval reset on this. I did something and now I get a service reminder every 1500 miles which is really annoying! I use the dashboard to reset this now but what ever I do with the T55 it makes no difference.

The manual is next to useless. Infact useless is closer to the tool than the manual is which is 'waaaaayyy' over there. So it's Tool------->Useless----------------------->Manual

Still, it reads codes that are there and deletes them. It's not big (well it's chunky). It's not clever (proved). It IS a whole load less dosh than VCDS and a cable.

hi i just bought the t55 i can reset the service- oil change and deleted the airbag warning light. but its unable to find a warning light for exterior light-bulb. i still have that sign on dash.

anyone knows how to update this tool?

Have you checked the central convenience module with it?  Should show up a bulb fault iirc.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did found it but it says: "right back fog lights" I replaced both of them and deleted the sign on dash but when I turned the engine ON, it came back on dash. I checked all light's they are all working.
